Observing Mongolian gerbil's reproducing performance for supplying the indexes of biology and guidance in development and use of animal laboratory. Thirty-three indexes of hematological and biochemical parameters in eighty mongolian gerbils were mensurated and compared with different sexes and regions. To study parasite infection in Mongolian gerbils from conventional and clean facility. 80 gerbils in breaking away from lactation were selected(female gerbils were 40,male gerbils were 40),and one male and one female cohabited for a long period of time. The blood of laboratory animals were taken from eyeball after limosis of 12 hours . The blood was divided into two groups and hematological and biochemical parameters were mensurated. According to GB 14922.1-2001 and GB/T18448.1-18448.10-2001of < National Standards of P.R.China>enacted in 2001.Every embryo gave mostly birth to 3~7 young gerbils, occupying 77 percent of all the embryos, and every embryo gave equally birth to 5.02±2.11 young gerbils. There were mostly 5-9 embryos in a year, occupying 91.7 percent of all the embryos, and there were equally 7.49±2.11 embryos in a year. The earlist birth was 89-day-age and the longest was 362-day-age,mostly in 89-196 days age, occupying 80 percent of all the pairs. The body weight of young birth gerbils were equally 3.5g,and adult female gerbils were 55.6g and adult male gerbils were 67.2g. There were no significant differences except GLu, Ck, Cre, UA, TG> GOT, CHO , ALP, LDH, RBC, MCHC, PLT and WBC by sexes. Most hematological and biochemical parameters were also different by region difference. The parasite infection rate in 80 Mongolian gerbils from 15 cages in conventional facility is 3.75%(3/80) of ectoparasites and 62.34%(48/77) of Pneumocysits carinii and 86.25%(69/80) of Tritrichomonas muris., while in 23 Mongolian gerbils from 7 cages in clean facility is 69.56%(16/23) of Pneumocysits carinii and 69.56%(l6/23) of Tritrichomonas muris.
