Taxonomic Studies On The Subfamily Of Hemisphaeriinae Of China

The thesis is a taxonomic study on the planthoppers of subfamily Hemisphaeriinae of China. It includes the following parts : introduction, review of its taxonomic history, material and methods, morphology, zoogeography, taxonomy and discussion of Hemisphaeriinae. Firstly, the research history on the subfamily Hemisphaeriinae is reviewed . Secondly , the morphology part ,the taxonomic characters and terms are outlined. Zoogeographical analysis show that most of Chinese genera and species are found in Southeastern China. Finally, 35 species of 7 genera in the subfamily Hemisphaeriinae are recognized, of which 12 species and 2 genera are new to science, 1 genera and 6 species are newly recorded from China, and 1 synonym is recognized and revised. Keys are given to all the generic and specific taxa concerned. Reference and index to both Chinese and scientific names are attached.
