Contribution To The Taxonomy Of Lauxaniidae From China (Diptera: Lauxanioidea)

The present paper is a thesis for the degree of MS, which deals with the taxonomy of the family Lauxaniidae from China.In the thesis, the general morphological and biological characters of Lauxaniidae are given. 26 species belonging to 4 subgenera of the genus Homoneura are described, including 22 new species: Homoneura (Chaetohomoneura) setulosa sp. nov., Homoneura (Euhomoneura) minuscula sp. nov., Homoneura (Euhomoneura) xiaolongmenensis sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) abnormis sp. nov.; Homoneura (Homoneura)beijingensis sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) brevis sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) chishuiensis sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) curvispina sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) curva sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) guizhouensis sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) interna sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) lii sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) longa sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) longispina sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) procerula sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) serrata sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) tianeensis sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) tianlinensis sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) tibetensis sp. nov., Homoneura (Homoneura) yangi sp. nov.; Homoneura (Neohomoneura) grandipunctata sp.nov., Homoneura (Neohomoneura) guangxiensis sp. nov. and 2 new record species: Homoneura (Homoneura) cornuta Sasakawa, 2001; Homoneura (Homoneura) immaculata (de Meijere, 1910). Keys to the genera of Lauxaniidae, subgenera and species of Homoneura from China are also given.In the section of results and discussion, the comparative study and relationship among the subgenera of Homoneura are discussed.In addition, a cheek list of the Chinese Lauxaniidae is given.The types of new species are deposited in the Insect Collection of China Agricultural Unversity and Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
