Jingtieshan mine is the main iron ore production base of Jiuquan Iron & Steel Group Corporation. The mine surrounds by high mountains and deep valleys, its geological structure is very complex and the nature geological environment is bad. Because the ore has been mined for long time, the nature geological environment has been getting worse and worse, such as the baldness of mountain body, the rock is weathered to pieces, a lot of loose material distributing along the gully and its banks, the disaster of debris flow is seriowsly, and the Production of the mine is constrained by debris flow disaster; for example, a debris flow broke out on August 1999 and resulted in catastrophic hazards to the Jingtieshan iron mine, resulted in a huge economic losses of 50 million Yuan. However, an amount of 60 million m3 material, striped from Heigou mine, will be deposited into the Heigou gully according to the planning design, it is a great hidden danger in the future. In order to effectively protect the mine, it is important to go deep to study the debris flow.In this paper, one comprehensive prevention countermeasure has been put forward according to system reconnaissance and survey, experimentation and all-around research on its developing character, forming condition and disastrous forms of debris flow,...
