| The Chinese Phryganeoidea and Calamoceratidae species are reviewed first time in this thesis.Phryganeoidea consists of Phryganeidae and Phryganopsychidae. This thesis deals with 7 genera, 24 species of Chinese Phryganeidae, of which 2 species, Eubasilissa morsei Yang W. & Yang L. n sp. and Eubasilissa quadrata Yang W. & Yang L. n sp. are new to science and 2 species, Semblis melaleuca (McLachlan) and Eubasilissa avalokhita Schmid are new to Chinese fauna. And 1 species, Phryganopsyche latipennis (Banks) of Chinese Phryganopsychidae is described and figured.Chinese Calamoceratidae fauna consists of 4 genera 7 species, of which 5 species in 3 genera are described in details. 2 genera, Anicentropus and Georgium, and 4 species, Anicentropus minutus (Martynov), Georgium japonicum (Ulmer), Ganonema fuscipenne Ulmer and Ganonema extensum Martynov are new to China fauna.Identification of other families of Trichoptera from Tianmushan Mountain (Zhejiang Province), Shanxi and Gansu Provinces, and Shiwandashan Mountain (Guangxi Province) is included in this thesis. 3 new species, Pseudostenophylax capitatus Yang L. & Yang W. n sp., Limnephilus mandibulus Yang L. & Yang W. n sp., and Hydropsyche (Mexipsyche) clavulata Yang L. & Yang W. n sp. from Shanxi and Gansu Provinces, and 1 new species, Hydromanicus angulatus Yang L. & Yang W. n sp. from Shiwandashan Mountain (Guangxi Province) are described.4 species of adult-larva association of case-making caddisfly are studied by rearingexperiments in laboratory. Of them, larva of Lepidostoma flavum Ulmer is described and figured for the first time. The biology of larvae of L. flavum Ulmer and Phryganopsyche latipennis (Banks) is observed. The prospect of using these two species as bio-indicators in clean water is also discussed. All specimens examined including type materials except those from the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica, are deposited in the Insect Collection of Nanjing Agricultural University. |
