Abstract/Summary:
Genetic engineering, also known as recombinant DNA technology, which is in accordance with pre-designed blueprint, using artificial means in vitro or in vivo biological cells of different DNA molecules are cut, spliced and re-combination, and then transferred into the operating life of the body to achieve the change of biological shapes, or even create new types of life purpose. Caused widespread concern now genetic engineering include the following two aspects: human genome research (or called the Human Genome Project) and transgenic are technology.Genetic engineering, likes with other scientific and technological achievements is double-edged sword:it brings to mankind the one hand, huge economic benefits and social benefits, but it also revealed a negative effect. Overall, these negative effects include the following problems:â‘ genetic resources as a problem;â‘¡genetic discrimination;â‘¢transgenic technology issues of human security;â‘£environmental safety of transgenic technology issues.In-depth analysis of genetic engineering ethical issues raised by, not only to in-depth analysis of their background and reasons, but also the corresponding countermeasures. This part from the Human Genome Project and transgenic technology are described in these two areas to the main contents of human genes and the development process.Part III:genetic engineering are the main ethical issues raised. These ethical issues include the following four aspects:â‘ genetic resources as a problem;â‘¡genetic discrimination;â‘¢transgenic technology issues of human security;â‘£environmental safety of transgenic technology issues. The problem has also been called ethicists who bioethical issues. Among these problems, some purely genetic engineering are the negative effects of their own, while others are genetic engineering of human values and moral concepts of existing systems and the strong impact of possible negative effects.Part IV:Addressing ethical issues of genetic engineering of the basic ideas. Privacy of genetic information on two aspects:on the one hand, each person's genome for some distinctive nuances of genes, the uniqueness of individual human genomes is one of the unique part of the personal information that can be incorporated the scope of privacy; on the other hand, each of the human genome which are more or less defective gene, they have the potential brings the possibility of adverse consequences, so brought in order to avoid genetic discrimination should be defective privacy of genetic information as protected by this.The human face of the safety of transgenic technology and environmental safety of these two problems, I suggest that the Chinese Government to adopt a "positive taking into account the cautious" attitude to look at GM technology. "Positive" means active in transgenic research, transgenic technology, actively participate in international seminars and international competition, in ensuring the safety of GM products on the basis of and actively promote the commercialization and industrialization.
