It Can't be denied, the express about multi-scale of the maps having satisfied the groups'different needs, at the same time, it arose the changes in location, forms, attributes and space relations that leads to conflicts between the target. With the developing in projects and requirement, detecting conflicts of map symbols in digital environments is becoming popular in cartography field. The existing methods in conflicts detection mostly aim at superimpose of symbols, which ignore the core problem is the differ in space relation, the superimpose of symbols is just an aspect of differ in space relation, This incorrect view point greatly restrict the veracity and effect of conflicts detection. Thus there is much manual work in conflicts detection and the effect is very low. This text base on cartography, topology, information transmitting theory and plane geometry, analyse the main matter about conflicts detection, and research line-line abd area-area model of conflicts detection. This work includes 5 aspects :(1) Base on the foreland of conflicts detection analyse the shortage and blank of current research then an advanced method of conflicts detects and matching rules are put forward, moreover, expatiate the objectivity, universality and signification.(2) Extending the dimension of entity in data base, using area-area and line-line models to express the other entity, after bring forward construct area-area and line-line methods, putting forward construct. All of above make up a integrate blue print about dealing with conflicts.(3) detailed method to describe topology measurement relation is put forward. Breaking down the curve into many beelines, calculating the crosspoints between one beeline and the other beelines. In order to reduce the difficulty, using external rectangle to restrict the number of beelines, then save all the coordination of the crosspoints as the base of calculating the area topology circle for matching rules.(4) In order to avoid break all the area objects into line objects classify the conflicts of area objects, optimize the arithmetic of conflicts detection in area objects.(5) The matching rules about conflicts detection base on the space relation of original scale data are seted down, integrate clearity, objectivity, facility, nicety, swifty and giving attention to measurement.
