The share and interoperation spacial image data is always the hotspot in WebGIS, especially as the development of Web Service technology which provides a new and better way for implementation of the share and interoperation spacial image data. The integration of Web GIS and Web Service makes users implement indexing, managing, distributing of spacial image data easier, and also enables any data nodes to provide Web Services at any places, on different platforms, in various spacial image data formats. Web Service is self-contained, self-describing, modular applications that can be published, located, and invoked across the Web, and it is easy to combine with Web GIS technology. In recent years, Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) defines a series of Web Service specifications on geospatial information, such as Web Coverage Service (WCS), which provide standard interfaces for sharing spacial image data.In this article, WCS Specifications of OGC are studied, interfaces of the project are analyzed, and data index technology (Quad-Tree) is researched. This project implements WCS based on Java and C# (.NET) and date index on C# (.NET) with WCS (.NET, C#). It builds spacial image data index effectively and provides standard interfaces to Web Service. At the same time, a client is developed to deploy two WCSs (implemented in Java and C#) on different platforms. The share mechanism built on OGC Specifications and Quad-Tree data index technology shows effective capability of share and interoperation of spacial image data and its independence of computer languages and OS platforms.
