Superconducting Super Collider, which Chinese name is超导超级对撞机and we called it SSC in short, was the largest scientific project ever attempted in USA which final budget was 11 billion dollars, 1987-1993. This project became the scientific research items, which Reagan granted in January 1987. In October 1993 the United States Congress killed the Superconducting Super Collider after almost 2 billion dollars had been spent on its construction while 20% of it had been built in Texas.Firstly, the history of SSC was discussed well in this thesis. Secondly, it analyzed the conflicts of interest in the controversies on SSC in the hearings before congress. Thirdly, it was expected that some deep think about the interests involved in the scientific activities could be taken. There are a total of four chapters in this thesis. The first chapter is the history of SSC, in which we introduced the history of SSC, its merit in science and the main construction of it.The controversies on SSC in the hearings before congress, 1987-1993, were discussed well in the second chapter. The third chapter is the central part of this thesis, it analyzed the conflicts of interests in the controversies on SSC in the hearings before congress, including the conflicts between the programs which in founding physics field and apply physics field, in science research field and other non-science research field, in the big science field and the small science field. In the forth chapter, we made the conclusion of this thesis, as well as explained something in details. In the end, there are two snippets of controversies on SSC in the hearings before congress for let readers to know the controversies more deeply and intuitionistically in appendix.
