Ecology And Biocentrism

Biocentrism is a nonanthropocentrism thought of Ecological ethics. What is the background of the emergence of biocentrism?what is source of it's ideas?Does It have the inevitability and rationality? This is the main issues I discuss in the paper . The production of has a certain basis of Ecology. As a mature subject ,Ecology have an important influence on biocentrism including production, development and rational thinking and other issues. There is a certain relationship between them. In the process of exploring the rationality of biocentrism, I reconstrct the main ideas and the the ecological consciousness of biocentrism . Comparative Ecology's request, I discussedthe rationality of its existence.Biocentrism concerns the moral status of individual life,such as Schweitzer and Taylor.While Ecology is focusing on the overall sense of life and thinking to make such inquiry on the ecological system. If ecological consciousness of biocentrism does not meet the requirements of Ecology , it is unreasonable.By the theoretical source of biocentrism asking it's rationality, this idea is the issue of innovation in my thesis.Paper is divided into four part.I reconstructed the main thought and its problems of biocentrism in the first part of paper, and this section includes: the historical background of biocentrism and its main representatives of ideas. Schweitzer believed that the real ethics recognize there is ethical relationship between human and all living creatures,and it advocate respecting living. Peter Singer pointed out that it should incorporated the non-human animals into moral community, and thus the subject of moral community boundaries extended to the animal. Taylor further develop and improve the bioethics of Schweitzer,in "respect for nature"Taylor think that respect for nature is a ultimate moral attitude and put this attitude in practice through a series of ethics and guidelines.I focuses on the link between Ecology and biocentrism in the second part,and I discusses the Ecological consciousness from the perspective of biocentrism in the second part.Is biocentrism rational ?And what is reasonable in biocentrism? We can rely on the interpretation of the ecology to find the answer.In the third part,I will evaluate the reasonableness of biocentrism from an ecological perspective. The laws of ecology include: Biodiversity, Interdependence among organisms,dynamic balance of Ecosystem relying on material cycling and energy flow Natural picture depicted in ecology, natural is no center,and various biological interdependence,and Ecosystems dependent on material and energy circulation maintaining the ecological balance. This is the basis for questioning the rationality of biocentrism.While biocentrism advocate Biological equality,and respecting for life.The Ecology is more emphasis on biological diversity and the overall balance of the ecosystem.Ecology acknowledge the differences between individuals, but it more emphasis on the overall balance of the ecosystem. Through the analysis,we found that biocentrism emphasize the absolute equality among individuals.Ecology is the most important source of ideas,there is no center of nature in Ecology.Although there are differences between the various biological,But they are interdependent and equal coexistence.By combing ecological awareness in biocentrism, ecological awareness advocated by Ecology does not get a reasonable understanding and application in biocentrism,the overall reasonableness of biocentrism should be questioned.The main problem of biocentrism is that it put biologies intol moral concern of human, such as the establishment of the center of life and reverence for life. Biocentrism recognized that the individual of life has intrinsic value ,such as Schweitzer, Singh and Taylor.And they advocates that moral should extends to all creatures. But biocentrism is not a complete ban on killing creatures .Thekilling should be examined by the ethics. When mankind had to kill the creature to obtain the necessary food, mankind shall be Should try to minimize its pain . Although biocentrism has some positive meaning on animal protection and creature equality, Biocentrism is still very limited as an idea in the aspects of solution of global environmental . The ecological consciousness of biocentrism are not fully Comply With ecological requirements, and the rationality of bio-centralism has been questioned. I traces the ideological source of biocentrism according to ecology, and then reconstruction ecological foundation of biocentrism. Biocentrism advocated equality and respect for the creatures, which reflects the principles of mutualism in ecology. At the same time, Biocentrism agrees that people should be treated creature morally,and the object is confined to individual organisms, there are certain individuals in the thought. Therefore, the conclude of the paper is that: biocentrism is no rational basis,and biocentrism is unreasonable.
