Research And Implementation Of Electronic Map Technology Based On Electronic Paper

Electronic map(E-map) is a product integrated by cartography and computer science. It is the symbolic display on the computer screen. With the development of IT, E-map's mode has changed from the original desktop into embedding. Electronic paper(E-paper) is a new display carrier. Due to the advantages of lightness, thinness, excellent flexibility, good visibility under bright light, ultra-low-power, anti-scratch, anti-extrusion etc., E-paper is becoming the best carriers of E-map.As a part of the actual research projects, this subject developed prototype system for embedded E-map based on the Broadsheet AM 300 as infrastructure hardware, Linux as operating system and Qt/Embedded as graphical interfaces. By deep analysis and research of Shapefile format, a method of analyzing the date files and graphic objects was invoked, and the geo-spatial attributes information could be obtained. The E-map which displayed on the electronic screen was programmed by Qt/Embedded, and finally carried out the functions of map zooming, roaming, the amount of calculation as well as the shortestpath planning. In addition, the method of weaking the flickers on the electronic screen and improved shortestpath algorithm were also invoked in keeping with the practical applications and the requirements of prospects.Finally, the system was verified by an sample of Xi'an's map, proved its feasibility and effectiveness.
