| After decades of development,China has become a veritable manufacturing power,and the manufacturing industry chain has been gradually formed and perfected,entering a new period of modernization and construction of the industry chain.With China’s economy entering the stage of high-quality development and changes in the international competition pattern,the competition among countries has evolved from product competition to industrial chain competition,which makes China’s manufacturing industry chain face the pressure of "internal and external difficulties" and also reveals the shortcomings and weaknesses of China’s long-standing focus on development speed and the construction of manufacturing industry chain.At present,the development of China’s manufacturing industry chain is facing the external impact of "high-end reflux" and "low-end diversion",as well as the internal pressure of industry chain blockage and frequent breakpoints.Promoting the modernization of industrial chain is the only way to break the bottleneck of China’s manufacturing industry development,and improving the resilience of industrial chain is an inevitable requirement for the modernization of manufacturing industry chain.General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed at the fifth meeting of the Central Finance and Economics Commission that we should "enhance the resilience of the industrial chain and upgrade the level of the industrial chain",and the subsequent meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee also included "ensuring the stability of the industrial chain supply chain" as one of the important tasks of the "six guarantees".The National Security Strategy(2021-2025)is to enhance industrial resilience and shock resistance,to enhance the resilience of the industrial chain as a key link in the national security strategy,the 20 th Party Congress report again pointed out that "efforts to enhance the industrial chain supply chain resilience and security level".In 2023,the magazine "QIUSHI" published an important article by General Secretary Xi Jinping "several major issues of the current economic work",emphasizing that to accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system,we must "effectively improve the industrial chain supply chain resilience and security level,and make up the short board,forging the long board".The digital economy has become a globally recognized "new track" for future economic competition and has also provided new momentum to enhance the resilience of the manufacturing industry chain.As a typical "integration economy",digital economy can not only promote the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry chain through industrial digitization,but also provide important support for the development of manufacturing industry chain through digital industrialization,and the factor-driven and industry-driven effects brought by it are beneficial to the improvement of the resilience of manufacturing industry chain.At a time when the development of China’s manufacturing industry chain is facing endogenous chronic pressure and exogenous acute impact,facing the development trend of deep integration between digital economy and manufacturing industry,how to transform the manufacturing industry chain with the help of digital economy,forge the long board of the industry chain with competitive advantage,and make up the short board that affects the resilience of the industry chain to improve,becomes an important issue for the modernization construction of China’s manufacturing industry chain and the highquality development of manufacturing industry.The "Party and State Institutional Reform Program" adopted at the Second Plenary Session of the 20 th CPC Central Committee proposed the formation of a National Data Bureau to coordinate and promote the planning and construction of the digital economy from the national level,which will surely further release the digital economy dividends.Based on the above background,this dissertation provides theoretical analysis and empirical test on the relationship between the digital economy and resilience improvement from the perspective of the manufacturing industry chain,which not only enriches the theoretical content of related research on digital economy and economic resilience but also provides policy guidance and practical basis for the resilience improvement and modernization of manufacturing industry chain in the context of the digital economy,with important theoretical and practical significance.This dissertation focuses on the theme of "digital economy drives the resilience of manufacturing industry chain",and uses a combination of theoretical and empirical analysis,quantitative and qualitative research to explore the connotation of industry chain resilience and reveal the relationship,mechanism,and path between digital economy and manufacturing industry chain resilience from the perspective of political economy.The main research and findings of this dissertation are as follows.First,literature review,theoretical foundation and logical analysis.A comprehensive review of current academic research on the digital economy and its enabling effects,industry chain resilience,digital economy and resilience enhancement,and the relationship between digital economy and manufacturing industry chain development,reveals that industry chain resilience is still a relatively new research topic compared to economic resilience,and there is no consensus on its conceptual connotation,dimensional division and measurement,and even fewer scholars focus on the relationship between digital economy and industry chain resilience enhancement.Then,the theoretical foundation of industrial chain development,technology-driven industrial development and economic resilience is reviewed and summarized to lay the theoretical foundation for the interpretation of industrial chain resilience and the analysis of the driving effect of digital economy in this dissertation;finally,the logical analysis of enhancing the resilience of manufacturing industrial chain is made from two levels of historical logic and realistic logic to reveal its importance and necessity.Second,the analysis of the mechanism of digital economy-driven manufacturing industry chain resilience enhancement.The role of the digital economy in improving the resilience of the manufacturing chain can be reflected in three aspects: direct impact,indirect impact and spatial spillover effect.The mechanism of the digital economy’s effect on each dimension of manufacturing industry chain resilience is analyzed separately from the perspective of direct impact.It is found that the digital economy can enhance the resistance of manufacturing industry chain by maintaining stability effect,value-added effect and structure optimization effect,can enhance the recovery of manufacturing industry chain by efficiency enhancement effect,layout reconstruction effect and adjustment adaptation effect,and can enhance the transformation of manufacturing industry chain by breaking lock effect,innovation diffusion effect and industry support effect.From the perspective of indirect influence,the transmission path of digital economy on industry chain resilience is analyzed from both internal and external factors respectively,and it is found that digitalization of manufacturing industry chain and the level of financialization play different roles in digital economy on manufacturing industry chain resilience enhancement.At the same time,due to the characteristics of the digital economy and the attributes of the manufacturing industry chain,the digital economy also has a spatial spillover effect on improving the resilience of the manufacturing industry chain.Third,the measurement analysis of the digital economy and manufacturing industry chain resilience.Firstly,the index system of digital economy development level is constructed from four dimensions: digital foundation,digital industry,digital application and digital environment,and the overall evaluation and spatial difference analysis of digital economy development level are conducted,and it is found that the digital economy divide in China has always existed and the differentiation between regions has been deepening.Secondly,the index system of manufacturing industry chain resilience is constructed from three dimensions of resistance,recovery and transformation,and the overall level of manufacturing industry chain resilience is evaluated by drawing a GIS spatial distribution map,and it is found that the level of manufacturing industry chain resilience shows a fluctuating upward trend;finally,the regional heterogeneity and evolution law of the measurement results of each dimension of manufacturing industry chain are analyzed,and it is found that different dimensions show different regional characteristics.Fourth,an empirical analysis of the digital economy-driven resilience improvement of manufacturing industry chains.Constructing a spatial econometric model to test the spatial effect of the digital economy on the resilience of manufacturing industry chains,and finding that the digital economy has a significant contribution to the resilience of manufacturing industry chains.Secondly,spatial econometric models were used to examine the spatial effects of the digital economy on each of the different dimensions of resistance,resilience and transformation of the manufacturing chain,and differences were found in the spatial effects of the digital economy on each dimension.Finally,a mediating effect model is constructed to verify the roles played by digitalization of manufacturing industry chains and the level of financialization in the digital economy-driven resilience improvement of manufacturing industry chains,and it is found that digitalization of industry chains exhibits a partial mediating effect,while the level of financialization plays a masking effect.Fifth,the ideas and paths of digital economy-driven manufacturing industry chain resilience enhancement.The overall idea of fully releasing the innovation-driven effect of the digital economy,realizing the ladder of digital transformation of the industrial chain,and preventing the tendency of excessive financialization that may be triggered by the digital economy.From the key tasks,we should achieve "stable chain" by consolidating the basic capacity of the industrial chain,"complementary chain" by accelerating the digital transformation of the industrial chain,and "strong chain" by strengthening the support of the innovation and development of the industrial chain.From the specific realization path,we should give full play to the multiple driving force of each element of digital economy,build a digital promotion mode of industry chain with "one chain and multiple points",accelerate the innovation breakthrough of manufacturing industry chain,build an industry chain ecosystem led by "chain master" enterprises,and improve the digital financial system serving the development of manufacturing industry chain.The innovation of this dissertation is mainly reflected in four aspects.First,it tries to interpret the connotation of industrial chain resilience from the perspective of evolutionary resilience,and focuses the research perspective on the manufacturing industry chain and tries to measure and analyze it.Second,it tries to theoretically analyze the effect of digital economy-driven manufacturing industry chain resilience improvement based on the theory of socialist market economy.Third,it tries to examine the mechanism and path of the role of digital economy-driven manufacturing industry chain resilience improvement using a more scientific method and richer perspective;Fourth,it tries to apply the analysis results to practice and explore the ideas and paths of digital economy-driven manufacturing industry chain resilience improvement. |
