The manufacturing industry is the lifeblood of the national economy,the proper of the country and the foundation of a strong country.After the development stage of selfreliance,comprehensive start and rapid prosperity,China’s manufacturing industry is transforming from high-speed development to high-quality development,and is now entering a critical period of quality and efficiency improvement.With the continuous promotion of high-quality development,the manufacturing industry aims to achieve high quality in all aspects,and continuously promotes industrial transformation and upgrading through technological innovation.However,in the process of rapid development,it faces problems such as high pressure of environmental pollution,high proportion of low-end industries and heavy task of improving quality and efficiency.Therefore,accurately grasping the level of high-quality development of manufacturing industry and exploring how to quickly and effectively improve the development quality of China’s manufacturing industry are the issues that need to be focused on at present.On this perspective,this dissertation studies the following four issues: measurement of manufacturing high-quality level,analysis of difference decomposition and evolution law of manufacturing high-quality development,analysis of influencing factors and contribution of manufacturing high-quality development,and research on promotion strategy of manufacturing high-quality development.The specific research contents and main conclusions are as follows:Based on the data of the provinces and manufacturing industries in China from2010 to 2020,the entropy TOPSIS method is used to measure the high-quality development level of China’s manufacturing industry from seven dimensions: scale development potential,economic creativity,degree of opening up to the outside world,scientific and technological innovation,green development level,high-end transformation strength and social contribution ability,and a comparative analysis is made from the time series change characteristics and multi-dimensional ability development.The results show that: at the province level,the high-quality development level of manufacturing industry has been steadily improved during the sample study period,but the quality grade is always in the medium quality.From high to low,the high-quality development level is the eastern region,the central region and the western region in turn,and the eastern region has basically realized the transformation to highquality;In addition,the high-quality development level of provincial manufacturing industry varies greatly.Guangdong ranks first,while Xinjiang ranks last,and the highquality level of Jiangxi,Chongqing,Sichuan,Anhui and Henan provinces grows faster.At the industry level,the high-quality level of manufacturing industry is high-tech manufacturing industry,medium-tech manufacturing industry and low-tech manufacturing industry from high to low.During the sample study period,some industries have achieved a leap in quality level,among which the high-quality development level of communication equipment,computer and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry is the highest.From the perspective of multidimensional capabilities,the green development level of manufacturing industry has obvious advantages,but the degree of opening to the outside world and the ability of scientific and technological innovation are weak,which are two aspects that manufacturing industry needs to focus on to improve its quality level.Combined with the measurement results of high-quality manufacturing development,this dissertation analyzes the difference sources and contribution rates of high-quality development level of manufacturing industry among provinces and industries by using Dagum Gini coefficient method.This dissertation analyzes the distribution dynamics and evolution law of different regions and different types of industries,and explores the convergence mechanism of high-quality manufacturing development.The results show that: the overall national difference is rising before falling,and the regional differences have the largest contribution rate to the overall differences,and the intra-group differences in the eastern region are the highest among the three regions.The overall industry differences show a "W" shape during the sample observation period,but the change is small.Inter-industry differences have always been the main source of high-quality development differences in China’s manufacturing industry,and the differences within high-tech industry groups are a larger group among the three types of industries.From the dynamic evolution characteristics,the main peak of the whole country,the eastern and central regions have a tendency to shift to the right,and the high-quality development level of the manufacturing industry is constantly improving,although the development quality of the western region has slightly improved,there is no obvious tendency for the main peak to shift to the right.Hightech industry groups have differentiated development,while the nuclear density curve of medium-tech industry groups presents a single-peak distribution,and the low-tech industry groups gradually tend to be in a centralized development state.For convergence characteristics,the σ convergence characteristics of the three regions and three industries are different,but they all have β convergence characteristics,and the conditional β convergence rate is faster for different regional development conditions.The key factors affecting the high-quality development of manufacturing industry are objectively identified by the stepwise regression method,and the relationship between each factor and the high-quality development of manufacturing industry is clarified by the Tobit model,and the contribution of each factor to the high-quality development of manufacturing industry is obtained.The results show that human capital,openness to the outside world,R&D intensity,economic development level,financial development and industrial structure adjustment are the key influencing variables,and each factor has a positive promoting relationship to the high-quality of manufacturing industry,but the regression result of openness to the outside world is unstable.In the heterogeneous regression,the influence of various factors on the eastern region is consistent with that of the whole country,and the R&D intensity in the central region has failed the significance test,indicating that the R&D intensity in the central region has no obvious effect on promoting the high-quality development of manufacturing industry at present.In the regression results of the western region,the human capital,economic development level and industrial structure adjustment have failed the significance test.In addition,it is found that financial development and human capital have the highest contribution through the Shapley contribution test,and the role of financial support and the advantage of human capital should be fully emphasized in the process of high-quality development of manufacturing industry.The provinces and manufacturing industries are classified and divided by K-means clustering algorithm,and the common characteristics of all kinds of provinces and industries are summarized,which lays the foundation for formulating strategies conducive to promoting the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.At last,by synthesizing the measurement level,difference characteristics,evolution law,influencing factors and clustering results of high-quality development of manufacturing industry,the macro strategy to promote high-quality development of manufacturing industry is put forward from the global perspective,and based on the clustering results,the feasible micro strategy is put forward from the provincial and industry perspectives.Based on the research logic of "development evaluation-difference decompositionevolution characteristics-influencing factors-countermeasures and suggestions",this dissertation reveals the spatio-temporal heterogeneity and convergence mechanism of high-quality development of manufacturing industry,and puts forward the clustering characteristics of manufacturing provinces and industries.The research can not only provide reference value for relevant research in manufacturing field,provide guidance for provinces and industries to promote high-quality development of manufacturing industry,as well as provide decision-making reference for relevant departments to formulate strategies to promote high-quality development of industry. |
