| The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China once again emphasized that talent is the primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force. In the process of building a Chinese-style modernization,it is necessary to deeply implement the strategy of innovation-driven development, and lead the development of the times with high-quality innovation. In the world today, the speed of knowledge iteration and technological innovation has clearly accelerated, promoting a profound transformation of the talent cultivation mode in higher education in the new round of global industrial and technological revolution. In the process of promoting the strategies of building a strong education country,a strong talent country,a strong sports country, and a healthy China, the strategic significance of cultivating innovation and entrepreneurship talents in the field of physical education has become more prominent.Currently, the academia has conducted research on the cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship talents from different perspectives. However, for higher education institutions of physical education, there is no authoritative theoretical system and systematic educational framework in this field yet.Based on this, the aim of this study is to use the theories of holistic human development, systems theory, core competency theory, knowledge production theory, and competence model as guidance. The study utilizes literature review, questionnaire survey, expert interviews, comparative analysis,Delphi method, and text analysis to comprehensively reveal the current situation and problems of talent cultivation for innovation and entrepreneurship in Chinese higher education institutions of physical education.Furthermore, the study systematically reviews the development process and typical characteristics of innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher education institutions of physical education at home and abroad.Based on the competence model, the study identifies the talent cultivation objectives for innovation and entrepreneurship in Chinese higher education institutions of physical education from the four dimensions of physical education expertise, innovation consciousness, innovation spirit, and innovation ability. The study also constructs an evaluation index system for talent cultivation objectives using the"core competency theory"from the four dimensions of knowledge, ability, personality traits, and character.Based on talent cultivation objectives, the study employs a comprehensive approach that combines qualitative and quantitative analysis, theoretical and empirical analysis, and micro and macro analysis. The study scientifically constructs a complete system for cultivating talent for innovation and entrepreneurship in Chinese higher education institutions of physical education from the dimensions of curriculum, methods, evaluation, and guarantee based on the text analysis of interviews with 16 experts in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship education. The study draws the following conclusions:(1)Due to the social and economic transformation and the need for national innovation-driven strategy,Chinese higher education institutions of physical education have started to implement innovation and entrepreneurship education under relevant policy driving. However, due to factors such as late start and lagging transformation of concepts, the overall level of innovation and entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education institutions of physical education is still relatively low and in the primary stage of development.(2)By reviewing the development process of innovation and entrepreneurship education in developed countries’higher education institutions and summarizing its typical characteristics,it was found that the education concept is updated in a timely manner, the curriculum is cross-fused,the teaching methods emphasize practical application, the evaluation method highlights diversity, policy driving is the internal driving force, and the integration of specialties and entrepreneurship is a distinctive feature.(3)From the perspective of the current status and existing problems of talent cultivation for innovation and entrepreneurship in Chinese higher education institutions of physical education, there is still room for deepening the understanding of the connotation of innovation and entrepreneurship among teachers and students. Some teachers have deviation in positioning the objectives of innovation and entrepreneurship education, the curriculum system is relatively weak, the teaching staff needs to be optimized, the education practice platform is seriously inadequate, and the integration of innovation and entrepreneurship is in need of further development. The innovation and entrepreneurship culture atmosphere is not strong enough, and the guarantee mechanism needs to be improved.(4)Based on the"competence model"and using text analysis, the study summarized the talent cultivation objectives for innovation and entrepreneurship in Chinese higher education institutions of physical education, which includes developing physical education expertise as a foundation, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship consciousness as a guide, cultivating innovation and entrepreneurship spirit as a core, and enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship practical skills as a key,to cultivate various types of innovation and entrepreneurship-oriented sports talents that meet the needs of national economic and social development and sports industry.(5)Based on the"core competency"theory, the study constructed an evaluation index system for talent cultivation objectives for innovation and entrepreneurship in Chinese higher education institutions of physical education, covering four dimensions of knowledge, ability, personality traits, and character, including four primary indicators,15 secondary indicators, and 47 tertiary indicators.(6)Based on the systems theory, the study preliminarily constructed a talent cultivation system for innovation and entrepreneurship in Chinese higher education institutions of physical education, covering three course modules, six teaching methods, four teaching evaluations, and six major guarantee elements, using expert interviews and text analysis as methods. |
