Research On The High Quality Development Of College Students’ Voluntary Service In The New Era

Voluntary service is an altruistic practice that demonstrates the voluntary spirit of "dedication,fraternity,mutual assistance and progress".It has the characteristics of public welfare of purpose,consciousness of will,universality of subject and diversity of ways.Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,which puts forward new requirements for the development of voluntary service.The Fifth Plenary Session of the19 th CPC Central Committee pointed out that we should "improve the voluntary service system" and "improve the social governance system of co-construction,co-governance and sharing".College students are the most dynamic group and the new force of voluntary service in today’s society.College Students’ voluntary service in the new era is an important "practical product" provided by colleges and universities to serve high-quality development in the process of cultivating new people in the era.It has the dual value of "practical education" and "serving the society".With novel coronavirus pneumonia and the development of the national economy and society,the volunteer service of university students has been developing rapidly in the Wenchuan earthquake,the Beijing Olympic Games and the new crown pneumonia outbreak.The development of College Students’ voluntary service in the new era must be a high-quality development from scale expansion to connotation innovation,from administrative promotion to people-oriented,and from individual promotion to systematic coordination;We must continue to play a role in the spiritual blood of Communists,find a correct position in serving the overall strategic situation of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the great changes in the world in a century,and improve the construction level of normalization,specialization and branding.Therefore,the voluntary service of college students in the new era should have proper motivation,extensive participation,lasting period and good experience;In terms of behavior,we should have accurate content,diverse forms,strong guarantee and accurate effect.The survey found that there is a deviation between the actual state of College Students’ voluntary service and the natural requirements,highlighting the lack of internalization of College Students’ understanding of the volunteer spirit in the new era,the insufficient service of College Students’ voluntary service projects to the overall work of the party and the state in the new era,and the immature system of high-quality development of College Students’ voluntary service.These problems not only reflect the materialization tendency of some college students at the level of spiritual pursuit,but also expose the deficiencies of education and governance subjects in the cultivation of College Students’ voluntary spirit and the guidance of voluntary service behavior.Based on the experience and lessons learned from the development of volunteer service in developed countries and regions such as the United States,Japan,Denmark and Chinese Hong Kong,this paper proposes that the development of university students’ volunteer service in the new era must be guided by General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discussion on volunteering service,construct a practical effective cultivation matrix,and improve a high quality operation mechanism,so as to form a systematic management pattern.Improve the legal guarantee system,improve the incentive ability of accurate evaluation,and form a set of mature,coordinated and orderly high-quality development system of College Students’ voluntary service in the new era,so that college students’ voluntary service in the new era can truly become a moral education practice for cultivating new people of the era with free and all-round development,Constantly meet the "needs for a better life" of social members,including college students themselves,play their unique role in cultivating and Practicing Socialist Core Values and increasing knowledge,insight and comprehensive quality,and highlight their unique values in the process of serving the modernization of social governance system and the construction of a new situation of a cultural power.
