Research On The Third Line Construction In Hechi, Northwest Guangxi (1964-1978

The Third-Front Construction in Hechi area is an important part of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region,which is formed under the background of starting the national strategic decisions—"Each province fight for itself" and the Third-Front Construction with Guangxi characteristics in 1964.At the start of the construction,it has become the focus of The Third-Front Construction in Guangxi because of terms of construction environment than Liuzhou and Guilin in north Guangxi,which is the direct reason for the settlement of a large number of projects of The Third-Front Construction in Hechi area.Therefore,The Third-Front Construction in Hechi region has a special position in The Third-Front Construction in Guangxi.The richness,complexity,typicality and vividness of its construction,as well as the multidimensional historical picture shown in the construction,have become the focus of this thesis.Based on archives,documents,newspapers and periodicals,oral history and other materials,this thesis discusses the historical origin,planning and deployment,organization and implementation,construction achievements,historical characteristics,experience and lessons and influence of The Third-Front Construction in Hechi area,northwest Guangxi,during 1960s and 70s,aiming to show the general historical picture of The Third-Front Construction in Hechi area,northwest Guangxi,in the 20th century.The direct causes of the rise of The Third-Front Construction in northwest Guangxi include three aspects--the formation of the national strategic decision of The Third-Front Construction,the decision of the central and southern region that initiated The Third-Front Construction with local characteristics and the natural geographical advantages of the Hechi area.At that time,Guangxi,one of the five provinces in central and southern China,started its own construction planning and deployment in 1960s,and The Third-Front Construction in Hechi,northwest Guangxi,also began.The establishment of the organizational structure of The Third-Front Construction in Guangxi and the establishment of Hechi Special Area,an important town of The Third-Front Construction,marked the formal start of the organization and implementation of The Third-Front Construction in Hechi area.The construction process mainly had two construction upsurges and four construction stages.The Third-Front Construction in Hechi region,northwest Guangxi,which lasted about 15 years,has made a series of achievements in the national defense industry,metallurgy industry,machinery industry,building materials industry,energy industry,chemical industry,railway and road transportation industry,light textile industry and the "the five small industrial enterprises(producing iron and steel;coal,chemical fertilizer,cement and machinery)".It highlights its significant contribution in consolidating national defense,promoting industrialization and promoting local economic and social development.The Third-Front Construction in Hechi region has both the general characteristics of The Third-Front Construction and the local characteristics of the construction in Guangxi,with special characteristics of the people who participated in the construction in Hechi build its special influence and position in The Third-Front Construction in Guangxi.The development history of The Third-Front Construction in Hechi area reveals to the world---insisting on the correct leadership of the Communist Party and completely eliminating the influence of "Left" is the fundamental premise of doing all economic work well.Adhering to the mass line,carrying forward The Third-Front Construction spirit and giving play to the great creativity and coordination of the masses are magic weapons
