| These books which are compiled to record the history of dynasty systematically except standard history by historians in their private capacity are called Sijia Bieshi.Chinese historiography in 19 th century has not yet been much influenced by the oriental spreading of western culture,so the traditional method and thought are followed to carry forward the old academic,and Qian-Jia Learning is embedded into the new age of Daoguang,Xianfeng,Tongzhi and Guangxu,in which time there is a boom of the unofficial history of the dynasty that can be called a beautiful scenery during this century and even in the whole history of Chinese historiography.There are more than forty kinds of history books of the annal-biography style,annalistic style,separate accounts of important events and folk poetry,including the finished,the unfinished,the survived and the lost.This dissertation focuses on the Annal-biography style which are,for example,Tang Chenglie’s Ji Han Shu that is compiled based on San Guo Zhi in a creative way,Zhou Ji’s Jin Lve that can be classified as an outstanding work by revising the old book,Chen Zhan’s Xu Tang Shu that follows the view that the Later Tang and the Southern Tang are orthodox dynasties sequentially,Liu Yinglin’s Nan Han Chun Qiu aiming at extensive collection and analysis to be a fragmented book,Liang Tingnan’s Nan Han Shu that is systematic and significant,Zhou Chun’s Xi Xia Shu that is compiled to be a book recording the history of unorthodox dynasty laboriously,Mao Yuesheng’s Yuan Shu that disappears nearly but two volumes which have a big influence on the later historians,and Wei Yuan’s Yuan Shi Xin Bian that includes innovative biographies deriving from former scholars.These unofficial books of the dynasty have their own academic and ideological roots and context,purports and methods,and significance and value in the field of their own academic history and the history of historiography in 19 th century.Taken together,these books are different from the corresponding old books obviously at the purpose,system,chapter,order of volume,fact,narrative or comment,but in terms of the style of history book,these writers,who live in the age when Zhang xuecheng promoting innovation of historiography has been dead,follow an old routine so that there is little innovation.In 19 th century,the window of opportunity of reforming traditional style is lost.The new history arises at the time that the new century is coming. |
