| The Collection of Unofficial History compiled by Wang Qi in the Ming Dynasty is a rich and various encyclopedia that using records from the Song and Yuan Dynasty along with the unofficial history in the Ming Dynasty.From Vol.114 to Vol.120 of the book is The Poetry Talks,which collects the poetry talks and some Ci talks of all time.If we extract this part of a book,it can also be a collection of poetry talks selected by Wang Qi.In the past,the study related to Wang Qi mostly focus on history and philology,the poetic territory is seldom being touched.The Ming Dynasty is one of the eras that poetry talks are very flourished,poetics was emphasized too.As a poetic work born in the middle-late Ming Dynasty,The Poetry Talks not only reveal the poetic conception of Wang Qi himself but also could be model for us to know the development of literature in that age.This thesis will investigate the text of The Poetry Talks,analyzing the poetic conception within by examining Wang Qi’s theoretical opinion,his poetry creation,and other works altogether under the basis of the document arrangement.Inspecting its significance of literary history on the background of the poetic development in the Ming Dynasty.Discussion seperates into 5 parts in this thesis.Firstly,the fundamental details about Wang Qi’s life,his works,and academic conception will be introduced.Secondly,a theoretical basis will be set by sorting out the primary document,the sources of The Poetry Talks and how these content varied as time goes by.Thirdly,the point comes to Wang Qi’s own poetic conception and his poetry creation.While seeing The Poetry Talks as a poetry talks’ selection,we are going to figure out its’ poetic theory.Next,depending on the exploration above,this section will find out the relationship between the The Poetry Talks and the collector Wang Qi,and place The Poetry Talks into the development of the poetics in the Ming Dynasty.Finally,by summarizing and evaluating the influence,shortcomings and the valuation of The Poetry Talks,the last chapter aims to draw a overall conclusion of this study. |
