This dissertation mainly focuses on exploring the energy dynamics of Northeast Asia,exploring the importance of regional energy markets in the region and the prospects,along with measuring the challenges that impede the way towards regional energy cooperation and solutions.In Northeast Asian region,since 2000,countries have intention to interconnect and reach the regional energy resource,by initiating energy projects and forums meetings actively as compared to previous years,yet,the base of the regional energy market has been mostly bilateral trade.Furthermore,China’s leading and positive attitude towards energy cooperation in the region,makes the regional energy market possible for the region’s members and the Power of Siberia-Ⅱ project,connects the three countries in the region,Russia to China through Mongolia.Benefits from regional energy markets are a bundle of.In particular,Russian Far East,Mongolia and North Korea’s economic and social development could be more from the regionally integrated energy market than the other three main States.However,these three states,such as China,Japan and South Korea could ensure their energy security and energy-related environmental issues using geographical location within the Region.Yet,still,firstly need to tackle some challenges that are arising from it,using regional regular dialogues and meetings and common interests related to common issues.This study intends to investigate benefits of regoinal energy cooperation and energy market in the region.The dissertation relies on discourse and content analysis while complimenting the hypothesis that energy cooperation is ultimately beneficial for every state in NEA.The significance of the dissertation is that it explores the study through a combination of theories,neoliberalism and neorealism,but assumes that neoliberalism,the main theoretical framework of this research,most effectively explains the vitality of studying cooperation.Yet,it is imperative to explain the dynamics of challenges in regional energy cooperation through neorealist approach.The research concludes by guiding the stakeholders towards a mechanism that will merge one of the most politically divisive regions into energy collaboration. |
