| The aging problem continues to intensify and has a wide range of social impacts.Smart aging provides strong support to meet the growing needs of the people for aging and has become a model of aging advocated worldwide.The integration and development of wearable technology and information and communication technology puts us at the starting point of a new round of industrial revolution.Smart clothing is expected to help smart aging continue to deepen and improve the health condition and happiness of elderly users because of its characteristics such as daily use,body fit,data perception,work continuity and scene diversity.When the elderly face the intelligence of life brought by smart clothing products and services,the decline of various abilities and the mismatch of a priori knowledge system make them frustrated and alienated when interacting with smart clothing,leading to a decrease in the enthusiasm of using smart clothing products and services,which may even trigger emotional depression and other reactions,making them the main group of people who cannot fully enjoy the equal rights of technology.Design,supported by technological development and a humanistic perspective,offers more and more friendly possibilities to help the elderly who cannot fully enjoy technological affirmative action.Persuasive design is an effective way to address complex technology usability issues and guide changes in user behavior.The intervention of persuasive design in smart clothing design can effectively bridge the digital divide among the elderly,improve their acceptance of smart clothing and their continued compliance,and enhance the practical implementation of smart clothing for the benefit of the elderly.The intervention in persuasive design is expected to promote the technical advantages of smart clothing,reduce the impact of the digital divide on the elderly,and enhance the affirmative nature of enjoying intelligent convenience.First,further segmentation of smart clothing elderly users,focusing on the young elderly users among them.As the youngest and most active group of seniors who use smart products most frequently,the young elderly are an important target segmentation user of age-appropriate smart clothing.The young elderly are closely connected to the changing needs of the middle-aged and the elderly,and are in a period of social identity transformation,so their needs and behavior are special.Grasping the characteristics of their demand for smart clothing and guiding the cultivation of their usage behavior is of strategic layout significance to the future smart aging business of the same batch of mid and senior elderly.Then,through the combination of classical theoretical model combing and qualitative quantification research methods,a persuasive design element system for the young elderly in the dimension of goals and tools is built,and design elements are assigned categories and weights to provide a specific design basis for persuading the young elderly to use smart clothing and persuading the active aging behavior of the young elderly through smart clothing.Secondly,the design method of emotional imagery and persuasive morality of smart clothing for the young elderly in Chinese cultural context is proposed to provide theoretical support for the design of smart clothing products and services that meet the needs of aesthetic expression of emotional imagery of the elderly in Chinese cultural context and at the same time conform to the norms of ethical and moral codes.Again,on the basis of the multi-dimensional evaluation method of smart clothing including functional utility,taking attributes and comprehensive fuzzy evaluation,the persuasive design evaluation method of smart clothing including persuasive ethics,persuasive power and behavioral-emotional evaluation is added to explore the roles and interest demands,interest contradictions and conflicts of stakeholders of smart clothing products and services for the young elderly,interest balance and co-creation strategies as well as the designer’s role,ability,responsibility and value of designers.Finally,through the design method proposed in this paper,under the intervention of persuasive design thinking,the clothing,hardware,software,service and evaluation design practices of walking persuasive smart vest and sleeping persuasive smart T-shirts for the young elderly are carried out in order to confirm and review the validity of the theories constructed by this paper’s research.In serving the elderly users,smart clothing should be technology-driven,but also centered on the users’ actual willingness to accept and use experience.The introduction of persuasive design in the design process of smart clothing for the young elderly can improve accessibility,ease of acceptance,practical implementation utility when serving users,and persuasive power when serving as a persuasive tool,which can help the young elderly who lack experience in using smart products to get out of the smart dilemma,create a more humane and pleasant experience,and provide important health and safety resources for a wider group of elderly people.Persuasive design should not only become the norm for smart clothing for the elderly population,but also an important way for designers to reflect humanistic care.This paper discusses the persuasive design methods,thinking and strategies under two dimensions of persuading the behavior of the young elderly to use smart clothing and persuading the smart and healthy aging behavior of the young elderly through smart clothing,taking smart clothing as a design object as a clue to provide some theoretical references for bridging the digital divide of the elderly and helping smart aging,and providing a solution under the perspective of design to alleviate the current aging problem in China. |
