There are a large number of myopic people in China,and wearing myopic glasses is an effective corrective method.There are some problems containing falling,clamping the head and skewing to the myopic glasses based on the traditional design method,which have an impact on the comfort of glasses try-on.Meanwhile,the falling and skewing can alter the position relationship between the glasses and the eye,which can lead to non-ideal corrective effect of glasses and affect the health of glasses try-on.Especially for the myopic glasses,the differences of myopic degree between the left and right eyes can result in the different mass between the left and right lens,which can affect the balance of glasses try-on.In order to improve the suitability of myopic glasses try-on,a template glasses frame can be located to the face model to build the mapping relationship between the glasses frame features and the face features,and the feature design of the glasses frame can be driven by the face features under the precondition of maintaining the design pattern and style.In order to conduct the location conveniently,it is necessary to confirm the symmetry plane of the face model.But with the limitation of scanning technology,the face model obtained often loses some local detail features,that is,an incompletion model.Therefore,in virtue of rapid and personalized customization advantages of 3D printing technology,the personalized design approach of myopic glasses frame based on the symmetry plane of the face model and object restoration is put forward,which can be mainly divided into five aspects to carry out the works.With the basis of summarizing the glasses frame features and the face features and analyzing the match relationship between the glasses frame and the face,the building of the mapping relationship between the glasses frame features and the face features is studied.Thus,a glasses frame design criteria,namely,the match degree between glasses and individual face,is presented based on the mapping and composited with the targets of glasses try-on health and comfort.On account of the criteria,the glasses frame feature design driven by the face features and the glasses frame balance design are researched,and the mapping relationship can be redesigned to make the glasses frame features match the face features.Hence,the subjective feeling factors containing glasses try-on health and comfort can be translated to quantitative factors,which can make the digitization of glasses frame personalized design come true.In order to solve the location and match between the glasses frame and the face,a symmetry plane extraction approach of the incompletion face model based on the symmetry feature information of local mesh and rigid alignment is presented.In the obvious symmetry area of the face model,a reflective mesh is computed by the initial selected local mesh and symmetry plane that is assigned interactively,and aligned to the initial local mesh by using ICP algorithm.Then,a symmetry middle point set is calculated by the aligned reflective mesh and initial local mesh.In the end,a symmetry plane is fitted by using the singular value decomposition(SVD)method.According to the presented approach,the impacts of the different area sizes,vertex number,position and quality of the initial local mesh and the different qualities of the initial symmetry plane on the extracted symmetry plane are researched,and the approach is compared to the pertinent literatures.The experiment results show that the algorithm in the paper can extract the symmetry plane of the face model with high precision effectively and robustly,which can provide the location basis for building the mapping relationship between the glasses frame features and the face features.Considering the occurring problems with the lack of local detail features in the process of obtaining the face model,a restoration approach of the face model with maintaining features is proposed based on the symmetry plane and mesh differential deformation.The selected mesh in the completion area of model is transferred to the incompletion area based on the extracted symmetry plane and the incompletion area boundary.In order to solve the match problems between the selected mesh and incompletion area,combined with the mesh rigid alignment and the discrete Laplacian deformation frame,the selected mesh can be operated to match the boundary of the incompletion area under the constraints of the boundary position and direction.In the end,the selected mesh is merged to the incompletion area by using the 3D mesh operation method to complete the object restoration.According to the approach,the object restorations of the faces with the lacks of top point feature and front area are researched.The experiment results show that the algorithm in the paper can restore the face model effectively under the precondition of maintaining the global left and right symmetry of the face model and with considering the local asymmetry feature information.Therefore,the complete face features can be provided for the glasses frame personalized design to show the glasses frame try-on effect perfectly and improve the user’s try-on experience feeling.A personalized design approach of the myopic glasses frame driven by the face features is proposed.According to the presented conception,namely,the match degree between glasses and individual face,the symmetry feature match and position feature match are conducted to build the mapping relationship between the glasses features and the face features based on the face model symmetry plane,pupil point and ear top point.Then,the mapping relationship is redesigned,and the designs of size features and shape features of the glasses frame are driven by the face features to study the suitability between the glasses frame features and the face features.Subsequently,a feature reuse algorithm is applied to marking a series of individual numbers on the glasses frame and the plastic glasses legs.In the end,a feature reuse and porous structure algorithm are used to design the balance of the glasses frame.Thus,the personalized design can be realized with the basis of maintaining the fashion and popularity of the glasses frame.A personalized myopic glasses frame design flow and application analysis on 3D printing are carried out.By using the personalized design software of the glasses frame with independent development in the paper,the glasses frame personalized design is driven by the face features to make the rapid and personalized design of the glasses frame come true.The designed glasses frame is fabricated by 3D printing technology rapidly,and three aspects of applications are conducted.First,the approach proposed in the paper is compared with the existing glasses frame design methods.The comparing results show that the approach proposed in the paper can obtain the expected match degree between glasses and individual face to ensure the health and comfort of glasses try-on can be achieved.Second,the feature reuse algorithm is applied to carry out the personalized decorating features for the glasses frame to improve the balance of glasses try-on,as well as extending individuality and embodying fashion.Third,the approach proposed in the paper is applied to more wide experiment people.The experiment results indicate that the personalized customization glasses can solve the problems of the traditional design method,and the better experience feeling of glasses try-on can be obtained.
