Research On The Influence Of Tourismification On Regional Development Imbalance

Our country has a large population and vast territory.With the advancement of industrialization and urbanization,the issue of regional development imbalance has become increasingly prominent.As an important part of the main contradiction of imbalance and inadequacy,regional development imbalance is not only related to social stability and national economy development,but also a key factor in whether our country can achieve common prosperity.Most of the existing studies have demonstrated the degree of imbalance in terms of the level of economic development,but few have examined the economic structure imbalance from the perspective of factor income distribution.Moreover,a large number of scholars have explored the causes and influencing factors of regional development imbalance from the perspectives of geographic environment,material capital endowments,development policies,and economic openness,but they have paid less attention to the correlation between tourism and regional development imbalance.Therefore,this paper explores the effect and mechanism of tourismification on regional development imbalance from the perspectives of regional economic imbalance and factor income distribution imbalance.It can not only enrich the existing theory of imbalance,but also provide helpful reference for alleviating imbalance and promoting social fairness in our country.Before the era of mass tourism,the tourism space of an area is usually separated and independent from the living space.However,with the advancement of the post-industrial society,tourism function has gradually become one of the necessary functions in many areas,and continues to integrate and interact with the living functions of residents.The feature of “Host-guest Sharing” has become increasingly prominent in the process of tourism development,so this paper tries to use tourismification to explain the changing characteristics in the process of tourism development.Although some scholars have explored the conception and measurement methods of tourismification,the background and essential characteristics of the phenomenon have not been deeply analyzed.What's more,with the updating of transportation and information technology,the impact of tourism on other social and economic activities has also been widely concerned.Among them,some scholars have explored the relationship between tourism and regional imbalance,but they have not yet reached agreement.Therefore,on the basis of the background and characteristics of tourismification,this paper explores the influence principle of tourismification on regional development imbalance.It can expand the research scope of relevant theories of tourismification,and provide useful reference for further deepening of tourismification practice.First,based on the background and characteristics of tourismification,this paper comprehensively evaluates the present situation of tourismification from the three tourismification aspects of industrial development,host and guest space and service facilities.It shows that the degree of tourismification in eastern and western regions is higher than that in the central region.Second,for scientific analysis of the imbalance of economic development level and economic structure,this paper investigates the degree of regional economic imbalance and factor income distribution imbalance.Among them,the results show that the regional economic imbalance in the eastern and western area might be more sharply than that in the central region.And the factor income distribution imbalance in the eastern and central regions may be more prominent than that in the western regions.Third,this paper uses the panel data of 31 provinces from 1998 to 2018 to analyze the impact of tourismification on regional economic imbalance and factor income distribution imbalance,and further explored the heterogeneity influence of different time,regions and quantiles.The results show that tourismification has a significant negative impact on regional economic imbalances,and the effect is more significant in the eastern region.Moreover,through the demonstration of the positive effect of tourismification on the labor factor income distribution,it is found that tourismification has a significant negative impact on the imbalance of factor income distribution and regional income gap.And the effects is more obvious in the western region in China.In addition,this paper also demonstrates the impact mechanism of tourismification on the regional development imbalance from the perspectives of transportation infrastructure,informatization and industrialization.It is found that the three factors all have positive moderating effect in the impact of tourismification on regional development imbalance.The innovations of this paper mainly include the following four aspects.First,based on the theory of economic development stages,this paper tries to use tourismification to explain the changing characteristics during the development of tourism.And it defines the tourismification from the aspects of concept,background and characteristics.It can expand the research scope of tourismification,and can provide useful reference for further deepening of tourismification practice.Second,based on the imbalance of regional economic and the factor income distribution,this paper explores the current imbalances in the level of regional economic development and economic structure,which can help to scientifically analyze the characteristics of regional development imbalance and enrich related theories.Third,based on the economic attributes and social public attributes of tourismification,this paper explores the relationship between tourismification and regional development imbalance.It can provide empirical evidence for the impact of tourism on regional development imbalance,and provides new ideas and directions to promote social fairness and alleviate imbalance.Fourth,based on the background and characteristics of tourismification,this paper reveals the impact and mechanism of tourismification on regional economic imbalances and the factor income distribution imbalance.It can provide some guidance for how to further play the economic and social effect of tourism.
