Pulsed current injection(PCI)test is an important method for research on high altitude nuclear electromagnetic pulse(HEMP)effect of electronic equipment.However,due to the lack of quantitative analysis tools,relations between PCI platform parameters and the injected current are hardly to be clarified.Accordingly,it is difficult to determine the best test set up for different equipment,which would affect the practical effect of PCI test as well as its application and generalization.By establishing PCI integrated circuit model including pulse generator,coupling device,wires under test and terminals,the paper quantifies PCI parameters and its physical process.Meanwhile the PCI test set up analysis and design method based on circuit simulation is developed.Furthermore,the paper presents an engineering way to realize the equivalence between injection and radiation,in addition to the corresponding PCI test platform.Research contents are organized as following.Firstly,the integrated circuit model of inductive PCI simplified platform is completed,in which the pulse generator has an actual internal circuit,the injection probe is simulated by a time-domain circuit model based on RLC network,and a fixture represents the wires under test.Afterwards,the coupling circuit model between the injection probe and bulk wires is exploited with multi-conductor transmission line(MTL)theory,and PCI on shielded cable is simulated with SPICE + Matlab program.Thus,the inductive PCI circuit model is improved and expanded.At the same time,several validation experiments are carried out,and the results proved that the circuit model is practicable with a high precision.Then a series of application research is presented.The CS115 test and exponential pulse PCI are taken as examples to demonstrate the analysis method of circuit simulation,with which the influences of each parameter in PCI set up are introduced and the optimization measures are put forward.Besides,PCI simulation technology is used to design the test set up aiming to reproducing the induced current at the port of the equipment under test,which can be derived from illumination or calculation.It can be applied to correlate PCI and radiation immunity test method.Secondly,the MTL model of capacitive PCI is developed.And the validation experimental results show an appreciable agreement with the calculation results both in frequency domain and time domain.In addition,two kinds of contact PCI are investigated by simulating and experiment.Coupling and decoupling circuit for contact PCI on non-shielded wires is designed and integrated to a compact device,which has been applied in practical experiment with satisfactory effect.Then the paper presents a simplified PCI circuit model for contact PCI on coaxial cables.Compared with the model in existed literatures,the simplified model reduces the complexity and improves the convergence greatly while keeping the simulation accuracy basically unchanged.Finally,the existing PCI test system is introduced and limitations are analyzed.At the same time,the experiment system is improved and optimized according to the new requirements of PCI technology research(especially the injection and irradiation equivalent method based on simulation),including a pulse generator system with adjustable waveform parameters,a current measurement system based on wireless transmission,and a design scheme of management software for PCI test.
