The Philological Research Of The Local Chronicles Of Wei Jin To Tang Dynasty

According to the A Comprehensive Index of Local Chronicles of China,Chinahas about 8200 kinds of old local chronicles,accounting for more than one tenth of Chinese ancient books.But academic circle pays more attention to modern local chronicles than old local chronicles and attaches more importance to geography and history than philosophy now,letting alone earlier local chronicles.Wei Jin Sui and Tang Dynasties are the early developmental stages of the local chronicles.Researching local chronicles of this time from the perspective of philology has theoretical and practical significance for the theoretical construction of the philology of local chronicles,the origin,development and evolution of Chinese chronicles,the establishment of local chronicles history and local chronicles study and the third round of compilation of local chronicle.Local chronicles include generalized and narrow sense.Narrow sense refers to comprehensive local chronicles;generalized sense refers to national local chronicles and special local chronicles recording some special local chronicles.The paper mainly studies the narrow sense and focuses on the following problems: first,figuring out the specific range of Wei,Jin,Sui and Tang's local chronicles.Former academicians' views on the name and the reality,origin,connotation and extension of local chronicles vary dramatically.Every dynasty has its own local chronicles.The local chronicles of Wei Jin Sui and Tang Dynasties not only have something in common with past dynasties,but also have its own characteristics.The paper concludes the connotation and core factors of the local chronicles based on documentary examples;concluding the extension of local chronicles from representative works of local chronicles.Then we can put forward the definition of local chronicles from generalized and narrow sense based on predecessors' views,which lays foundation for the bibliography,bibliology,textual criticism,gathering of scattered writings of local chronicles in Wei Jin Sui and Tang dynasties.Second,conclude the characteristics of the local chronicles of Wei Jin Sui and Tang dynasties.The characteristics of different local chronicles in Wei,Jin,Sui and Tang dynasties are investigated in different stages from the aspects of the name evolution of chronicles,geographical distribution,case genre,compiler distribution and so on.Third,investigate the historical evolution of the route of descriptive cataloguing.Groom the distributions and evolution of the historical catalogues and class heading of the local chronicles of Wei,Jin,South and North dynasties to seek for exploring the academic source stream;make a textual study on the error,Same book different name,A different book of the same name,Different volumes,Different Compiler and so on of the local chronicles of Wei Jin South and North dynasties made by scholars ofofficial cataloguing,private catalogue and catalogues of history books.Fourth,Collect the text of local chronicles of Wei Jin Sui and Tang dynasties and research the collected text from Wei,Jin,Sui and Tang dynasties.Analyze and conclude present editing situation,replenish collected text,uncollected text,recollecting local chronicles and collate the text of local chronicles.Study the existing and collected local chronicles of this period from bibliology and groomed the researching results of existing editions and did monographic study.Fifth,collect and research the dialect materials of local chronicles.Collect and excerpt 35 dialect materials of Wei Jin South and North dynasties.Besides,we study the situation in literature of that time and the historic morphology and changes of dialect words from literature text.
