In recent years,with the rapid development of the Internet and digital information age,content-based image retrieval technology has become a contemporary research topic in intangible cultural heritage image protection and cultural creativity development.Modern theories on image retrieval not merely concentrate on the management and protection services of sample data of digital images of intangible cultural heritage,but lay emphasis on and increasingly depend on effective information detection and evaluation technology in acquiring profound information of intangible cultural products,such as probing into the formation,categories and main features of the product forms of ceramic products from Yingjing,to satisfy more and more research needs.However,the protection and development of non-material cultural heritage such as ceramics from Yingjing is facing more complex difficulties and challenges because of earthquake damage and residual faults.Therefore,it has been an urgent problem how to find their information and to transform it into the productivity of industrial design.Centering on the variety,complex form features,time-consuming innovative design,design decision-making difficulty and other problems of the non-material cultural heritage ceramic products from Yingjing,based on the image fractal retrieval theory as the framework,the form innovative design of ceramic products from Yingjing was studied.The main contents are as follows:(1)The problems with the design research of ceramic products from Yingjing were analyzed,the related concepts were defined,and the innovative design methods concerning product form,image fractal retrieval theories and background literature of their form research related to the work in this paper were reviewed while corresponding solutions were proposed.(2)The aesthetic characteristics of ceramic products from Yingjing were analyzed,the characteristics of fractal structure and aesthetic response were summarized,and the fractal design model of ceramic products from Yingjing was constructed.Moreover,the innovative design method of ceramic products from Yingjing based on image fractal retrieval was put forward.Concentration analysis of the critical problems related to this method was conducted,which provides method guidance for the form innovative design of ceramic products from Yingjing using image fractal retrieval.(3)The form category characteristics and elementary features of ceramic products from Yingjing were discussed.The IPA(Internalized Product Appearances,or IPA for short)knowledge base of ceramic products from Yingjing was constructed to realize the basic conditions for constructing the image retrieval function of ceramic products from Yingjing.According to the complexity study,a similarity measurement method for image fractal of ceramic products from Yingjing based on the complexity of form features was proposed.Through the measurement in terms of feature similarity,structural similarity and fractal similarity,it was showed that the form of ceramic products from Yingjing meets the prerequisite of fractal research.(4)The box dimension was established as the fractal measurement scale of form design for ceramic products from Yingjing.Since box dimension value of Yingjing earthenware in IPA knowledge base was calculated,and the box dimension partition was set,which lays a foundation for the subsequent realization of form fractal retrieval for ceramic products from Yingjing.By comparing the values measured by the box dimension method and the complexity of form features,the form design features of the box plot of their respective dimensions were determined,which provides data support for the parametritis evaluation of ceramic products from Yingjing and the development of auxiliary decision-making system.(5)The fractal retrieval of form innovative design for ceramic products from Yingjing and auxiliary decision-making system was developed.The fractal retrieval system,by taking the fractal dimension scaling algorithm as the core,and the image processing and contour tracking technique as the interface design,measures the fractal dimension of the image for ceramic products from Yingjing.The auxiliary decision-making system was based on the IPA knowledge base of image categories of ceramic products from Yingjing.Taking the fractal dimension of image retrieval for ceramic products from Yingjing as the corresponding index,it constructs a design auxiliary decision-making system with different box dimension intervals,different functions and categories.(6)By applying the research results of this paper,Yingjing teapots,bottles and pots were improved and newly designed respectively.The product form preference analysis method combining questionnaire survey and cognitive psychology experiment E-prime was used to evaluate the design schemes of them.The evaluation results were consistent with those of the design examples in this paper,which verified the validity of the form design method for ceramic products from Yingjing based on image fractal retrieval,as well as the reliability and practicability of fractal retrieval and auxiliary decision-making system.
