Abstract/Summary:
This dissertation is an application of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) as a research methodology framed in the construct of the consistent application of Al as a change intervention and the consistent utilization of the unconditional positive question. Significant business outcomes validate change has occurred and is correlated to AI interventions.; Factors of energy for change are identified as essential components to the creation of change. These either exist in an organization or can be developed through the practical application of Al. This study demonstrates the development of the process for measurable change. This study identifies change is possible, energy is essential and language, the positive unconditional question, can become the norm.; This study demonstrates the inter-relatedness of the four factors that serve as sources of energy that move organizations toward significant and proven change. The need to create energy for change is essential to all industry. This dissertation offers an appreciative alternative, an alternative that in this case produced significant bottom-line business results.
