Meaningful language use and understanding, interaction among language learners, acquiring new and useful information, and competency in real-world communication are some of the major themes mentioned in this paper in order to help teachers and professionals develop useful approaches and policies to assist their students in reaching their desired goal of learning a foreign language. The standards for foreign language learning (National Standards in Foreign Language Education Project, 1996) have made it much easier for teachers to deal with their different views and practices of teaching and drastically different theoretical approaches to second or foreign language teaching in general and specifically to grammar instruction.; Therefore, the theory of my foreign language review and exploration is that the language teacher should be introduced to new ideas in all aspects of language instruction, research findings of some practices and experiences of successful language professionals, and novel perspectives on language teacher tasks in today's challenging classrooms. |
