Abstract/Summary:
Generation of high-harmonics up to the 18th order of a high-repetition rate millijoule laser is demonstrated from solid targets. High focused intensities are achieved with low pulse energies by using adaptive optics coupled with a short focal length off-axis parabaloidal mirror. Supporting research into low amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) amplifier design, ultrashort pulse measurement techniques, filamentation compression and focal optimization is also presented. The combined work expands the accessibility of high-harmonics from solid targets by enabling the use of smaller, widely-available laser facilities.
