Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this project was to discover the best practices for discipling women in the Evangelical local church context. The research indicated that discipleship training for women will provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education and creative ministries. The research further revealed that discipleship training would enable the women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ. The research also revealed that discipleship is regarded as one of the primary missions of the church, and is to be accomplished in the context of the local church. It is imperative that the church leaders become aware of the biblical need that the women have to be ministered to by other women and the positive effects a healthy women's ministry can have on the whole church body. The ministry is also responsible for implementing the Titus 2 model. An effective discipleship program will result in women following the philosophy of the church and serving in other ministry areas as well. To sum up, women's ministries play a vital role in the development and promotion of female discipleship and how God uses women to have an influential impact on other women.
