Abstract/Summary:
The published data of experiment E906, undertaken at the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron of the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL-AGS), were re-analyzed to clarify the signature of its decays of the double and single lambda hypernuclei which could have been produced in this experiment. The re-analysis indicates that instead of the reported decay of the H4LL hypernucleus through the proposed resonance in H4Le (8.9 MeV), it is more probable that the decay of H7LLe hypernucleus was observed. This decay was accompanied by a background of coincident single hypernuclear fragments H3L with H3L, H3L with H4L and H4L with H4L . An attempt was also made to determine if any other double or coincident single hypernuclear species could be observed in the data.
