Since the 1990s, strategic alliances have become one of the most important topics in the area of strategic management research. With the development of globalization, strategic alliance is becoming more and more important in the enterprises'strategic. In the face of drastic competition, a lot of multinational corporations began to adjust their competition relations, from opposing competition to cooperation competition. They choose to cooperate with their competitors, creating competitive strategic alliances. The research about alliance structure is one of the most important problems in the field of research about strategic alliance. There are a lot of ways to classify the strategic alliances'structure, the classification of Non-equity Strategic Alliance and Equity Strategic Alliance has been used most frequently. Based on this classification, we carried out an empirical research on the preferred strategic alliance structure in the competitive strategic alliances.Based on present studies, we proposed a proposition model about the preferred strategic alliance structure in the competitive strategic alliances. Then, we find that the index system of resource, intensity of competition, and perceived risks is guaranteed so that the data can meet the demands of this study. At last, we confirmed the proposition model by using SEM in empirical study. Data are mainly collected from the enterprises which has underwent a competitive strategic alliance and the enterprises which are about to have such an alliance. The steps are listed below: After a study on the relevant theory and document, domestic and abroad, a primary questionnaire including 33 concrete targets is formed on the resources, intensity of competition and perceived risks, etc... Five-point Likert Scale is used to grade these measures. After the pre-test by expert, the questionnaire for pilot study is formed. Then we gave the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) on the data collected in the first pilot study, and the pilot questionnaire was modified and the formal questionnaire was developed according to the result. In the second survey, we gave the reliability analysis on the data collected, and through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), we find that each group of factors in Res, Com and Risk have a good fitness, the formal questionnaire has good reliability and validity. Finally, we employ SEM to analyze the big-sample data and tend to validate the proposition model with Amos4.0.The conclusion shows that there are tight relations between Res, Com, Risk and preferred strategic alliance structure. Manager's preferred strategic alliance structure is influenced by his perceived alliance risks in the future. Res and Com are the important elements which influence the manager's perceived alliance risks. In the further research, we studied the relation between Intensity of Competition and Risk, and found how Intensity of Competition influence perceived risks. On the basis of the conclusions, this study puts forward some useful suggestions to our country's companies which wants to cooperation with its rivals, and gives the expectation to the further research.
