In the new era,China's economy is facing new demands from high-speed growth to high-quality development.China has become the world's largest manufacturing country,but we are still unable to squeeze in the first queue of manufacturing industry in the world.The industrial system which we are proud of has fallen into a "big but not strong" embarrassing situation.The outstanding problems are reflected in that quality and brand of products are not strong,and that value-added of products is low.The quality problem has caused the highest vigilance and attention of the top decision makers.In September 5,2017,"Guidance Opinions of the Central Committee of the Party of China on Launching Quality Improvement Actions" provide impetus for China's manufacturing quality upgrade and Made in China 2025,which will help China to manufacture and lead the world.Therefore,starting from the quality management of manufacturing to study the improvement of quality is the basis for promoting the high-quality development of China's economy.In the context of the global economy,the manufacturing industry has become a common manufacturing network of manufacturing organizations from single enterprise.The impact of quality has also expanded from a single company to the entire supply chain,and even to the national industry.For example,the "Samsung " cell phone battery explosion has caused Samsung's mobile phone market status to rapidly decline."Kobe Steel" fraud has affected almost all Japanese manufacturing industries.Quality management problems such as the existence of a certain point in the manufacturing chain make all the quality efforts of other companies in the manufacturing chain go to waste.This kind of quality conflict even leads to the collapse of the entire quality chain.The concept of the quality chain gradually caused the enterprise managers and researchers to pay extensive attention to eliminating quality conflicts and improving quality collaboration.Taking the equipment manufacturing industry as an example,this article uses the theories of quality management,synergetic,and economic synergy evaluation to explore the factors of the manufacturing quality chain,analyze the mechanism of the quality chain synergy,and evaluate the ability of the quality chain synergy,and proposes the “Five-Quality-Flow”.The manufacturing quality chain synergy 5QF-3D model is built based on the “Five-Quality-Flow”.This study offers theory and practical guidance for understanding the manufacturing quality chain in depth,clarifying the factors that promote the coordination of the manufacturing quality chain,scientifically evaluating the overall level of the quality chain synergy,guiding the quality participants to improve the quality chain synergy capability,and improving the quality chain core competitive advantage.The main contents of this article include:(1)Exploring the synergy factors of the manufacturing quality chain.The grounded theory,FUZZY-DEMATEL and questionnaire surveys were used to empirically explore the manufacturing quality chain synergy factors.Firstly,a case study of equipment manufacturing was conducted on the quality chain synergy factors.In-depth interviews were used to collect data.18 quality chain synergy factors were extracted from the data using grounded analysis,and the concept of "Five-Quality-Flow"(5QF)synergy was proposed.Secondly,through the FUZZY-DEMATEL method and other methods to judge the importance of the quality chain synergy factors,a manufacturing quality chain synergy 5QF factors system was build.Finally,through the investigation of the quality of the manufacturing industry in China,the construction of the manufacturing quality chain synergy 5QF factor system was verified.(2)Constructing a manufacturing quality chain synergy 5QF-3D model.Using quality chain theory and synergetic theory,firstly,a quality chain synergy 5QF-3D system was established from the dual perspectives of "Five-Quality-Flow" and "Three-Dimensional" synergy structure.Through synergy mechanism analysis,the manufacturing quality chain synergy 5QF-3D model was constructed.Then,taking the equipment manufacturing quality chain as an example,the collaboration of each quality flow of "Five-Quality-Flow" on each quality chain entity was analyzed.Finally,the concept of quality chain synergy degree,with a mathematical evaluation model to evaluate synergy capabilities,was proposed and verified by examples.(3)Evaluating the synergy performance of manufacturing quality chain based on 5QF-3D model.Firstly,the improved S-L sequential network DEA method was used to evaluate the synergy performance of the quality chain,and the quality chain synergy performance value was obtained.Then,the gray correlation analysis method was used to find the key factors affecting the synergy performance of the quality chain and analysis the quality chain synergy performance.Finally,a quality chain synergy performance evaluation model was build to measure and evaluate the efficiency of the quality chain synergy based on the 5QF-3D model.The main results of this paper are as follows:(1)The 5QF factor system for manufacturing quality chain synergy was established.Through field research,this paper fully explored the synergy factors of the manufacturing quality chain,identified 15 minor synergistic factors,and proposed five major synergistic factors-quality ethics flow,quality demand flow,quality control flow,quality improvement flow,and quality information flow.The quality chain synergy 5QF factor system was established and verified by 3,335 valid samples across the country.Research shows that the manufacturing quality chain entities influence the quality chain collaboration through quality ethic flow,quality demand flow,quality control flow,quality improvement flow,and quality information flow— "Five-Quality-Flow" factors.The practice of quality chain synergy management can be started from the "Five-Quality-Flow" synergy management to promote the quality chain synergy.(2)The 5QF-3D model for manufacturing quality chains synergy was established.This model reveals that the non-linear interaction of the quality chain 3D nodes in the manufacturing quality chain synergy 5QF-3D system is through the operation of the quality ethic flow,quality demand flow,quality control flow,quality improvement flow,and quality information flow— the 5QF subsystem,to achieve.The operation of "flow" between nodes can be seen as the interaction between the internal subsystems of the two nodes and the "flow" related factors.Under the non-linear interaction between the manufacturing quality chain and the internal subsystems of each node in the 5QF-3D system,the quality chain synergy factors are generated through fluctuations and amplification,which in turn govern the quality ethics flow,quality demand flow quality control flow,quality improvement flow,and quality information among the quality chain nodes.The operation of the 5QF sub-system enables the coordination of the operation of the quality ethics flow,quality demand flow,quality control flow,quality improvement flow,and quality information flow among the 3D node entities on the quality chain in order to achieve the entire quality chain synergy.At the same time,by measuring the degree of synergy between the 5QF subsystem and the 3D subject subsystem,and the matching degree between the subsystems,the overall level of the manufacturing quality chain synergy is obtained and the quality of the chain is evaluated.(3)The manufacturing quality chain synergy performance evaluation model based on 5QF-3D model was established.This model can give the overall collaborative efficiency of the manufacturing quality chain,identify the key nodes that affect the synergy performance of the manufacturing quality chain,analyze the reasons for the differences in the synergy performance of quality chain entities,and put forward corresponding suggestions for improvement.The research shows that each entity in the quality chain must not only pay attention to its own collaborative management performance of the quality chain,but also focus on other key node entities and indicators which have a major impact on the synergy performance of the quality chain,to improve the matching of the synergy performance degree of the quality chains of the various quality chains,improve the collaborative input-output efficiency of the entire quality chain,and promote the coordination of the quality chain.The main contributions and innovations of this article are:(1)This study explored "Five-Quality-Flow" quality chain synergy factors— quality ethics flow,quality demand flow,quality control flow,quality improvement flow,and quality information flow—and put forward the manufacturing quality chain synergy 5QF factor system.Due to the lack of existing research,this paper through a large number of in-depth research,jointed use of ground-based analysis and FUZZY-DEMATEL and other mathematical methods to identify the manufacturing quality chain synergy factors.The finding of this study statistically proved that the nodes in the quality chain make the synergistic effects by the "Five-Quality-Flow",to achieve orderly flow across the entire quality chain and enable the synergy of the entire quality chain.Based on the "Five-Quality-Flow",the manufacturing quality chain 5QF factor system was proposed,it passed the verification of 3,335 samples of quality management surveys of manufacturing companies across the country and opened the "black box" of quality chain collaboration to some extent.(2)This study researched the operation mechanism of "Five-Quality-Flow" in the "3D" synergy process of quality chain,established the manufacturing quality chain synergy 5QF-3D model,and measured the synergy degree of manufacturing quality chain based on 5QF-3D model.This article broke through the scope of previous research and research perspectives,introduced the concept of "Five-Quality-Flow" and the "Three-Dimensional" collaborative structure of quality chain,and studied the quality chain from a double perspective.By using cooperative system theory to analyze the 3D synergistic mechanism of 5QF in the quality chain,a mathematical model for synergetic measurement of 5QF-3D model was established,and the model was verified by equipment quality chain examples.On the one hand,this study enriches the research of the quality chain management theory in synergy,expands the research perspective of the quality chain d using quality chain theory,more intuitively reveals the mechanism and nature of the quality chain synergy,and can better reflect the actual operation of the quality chain,making the study of the process of self-organizational evolution of the quality chain and the achievement of synergy more scientific,intuitive and comprehensive.To a certain extent,it has opened up the black box of the role of synergy in the internal chain of the quality chain.On the other hand,it provides the theoretical basis for measurement,evaluation,and improvement of quality chain synergy level assessment.It understands the status quo of quality chain synergy in more detail from the perspective of 5QF and 3D.The model provides the preconditions for manufacturing companies to carry out quality improvement actions.The overall quality level of manufacturing has practical significance.(3)This study constructed a manufacturing quality chain synergy performance evaluation model based on the 5QF-3D model to guide the quality chain synergy practice.In this paper,the improved S-L sequential network DEA method and grey relational analysis method were used to construct a quality chain synergy performance evaluation model based on the 5QF-3D model,and the model was verified by the case.This model can evaluate the overall efficiency of synergy management of manufacturing quality chain,identify the key nodes that affect the synergy performance of the quality chain,analyze the reasons for the differences in quality chain synergy performance among different members of the quality chain,propose effective suggestions for improvement,and promote quality chain synergy performance improvement.This study not only provides a synergy performance evaluation method for the manufacturing quality chain,but also enriches the research content of the quality chain synergy theory,providing a new entry point for following research—synergy performance.It also provides an improving decision-making basis and guidance of quality chain synergy management practice and provides a starting point for manufacturing companies to carry out quality improvement actions which has strong practical significance.Above all,the quality chain synergy management is an effective means to improve the quality management level of manufacturing and promote structural adjustment and economic transformation.This article carried on the exploratory research to the quality chain synergy factors,the synergistic mechanism and the synergy performance in equipment manufacturing.A quality chain synergy model based on the Five-Quality-Flow was construted which could provide the theory support and the practice guidance for the implementation quality enhancement.The following research of this paper includes: the research on service industry quality chain synergy,the research on different manufacturing quality chains synergy,and the influence of industry attributes and organizational attributes on the quality chain synergy.
