Crossing Boundaries

This dissertation takes social interaction of science as the point of penetration,under the theoretical background of science communication,conducts a unified analysis of the existing research results in the international context.This dissertation researches the patterns of social communication of science,the communication structures of social interactions of science,the communication capitals of social interaction of science,communication controls of the social boundaries of science,and the boundary modes of social communication of science.It also analyzes the communication process of social interaction of science from the external to the internal,the boundary interaction mechanism of science and other fields,finally puts forward suggestions for science communication in China.This dissertation is divided into nine chapters.It is organized with a summarized-itemized-summarized structure,from the definition of the concept,to historical examples,further by means of the results of theoretical analysis,it sums up the types of mode of social communication.In the end,it provides suggestions for science communication in China.The dissertation first clarifies the concept of social interaction of science with the help of Habermas' s theory of communicative action,then reviews the development process of social interaction of science in different historical periods,digging the existing history patterns of social communication of science from the historical data,such as feast social,square social,family private social,fashion social,political social,public social and other rich and colorful social interaction of science,to show that the science community promotes the development of science communication in different forms of social interactions with some vivid and interesting examples.Furthermore it elucidates that rulers,bishops,nobles,privileged large familes,bankers,bureaucrats,and capitalists provided great help in the process of interacting with scientists.They made a great contribution to the development of science and they were the most powerful science communication of opinion leaders.On the basis of this dissertation,the author integrates the field theory and other theoretical methods to analyze the structure of the social interactions of science,and develops the matrix of social boundaries of science and other fields.At the same time,the ahthor reveals in the study that all kinds of flowing capitals at boundaries of social communication,such as countries yuan capital,economic capital,social capital,promotes border trade zone of science.Combined with the international reality,this dissertation points out that,in order to rule the state,the relationship between the ruling class and the science community is tight and loose so the ruling class have an appropriate control of science communication boundaries.Additionally by studying the cases of social communications of science in China,the author brings attention to the existing problems.Finally the author summarizes the types of communication modes and the interaction mechanism of the existence of science boundaries,offers new communication theories and suggestions for scientific social interaction in China.In the twenty-first Century of new technology revolution,this dissertation hopes to provide some foresight for China's science development trend.
