Innovation is a vital impetus to human civilization progress.Innovation and entrepreneurship have flourished in many countries since the new century,sparkled a latest wave of innovation and entrepreneurship,reached out to the realms of high-technology and education.In this trend,cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents has become the theme of higher education reform in the 21st century.Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)refers to a new pedagogical idea and practice which based on innovation.Its core is to stimulate the innovativeness of students.The goal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)is to cultivating the innovative spirit and entrepreneurship ability and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)points to the innovation in future career and the entrepreneurship development.The essence of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)is a revolution of the former education paradigm.As pioneers of the higher education reform,research universities have more advantages in cultivating innovative talents and innovative researching over the other universities,so are obligated to lead the social development.Although a broad spectrum type of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)has been rapidly carried out in research universities under the promotion and support of the Chinese government in recent years,and the curricula system,platform and mechanism of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)are gradually established,the connotation of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)in China has not yet been clarified.It has caused certain problems during the educational practice such as the unbalanced curricula,the in-organized teaching staff team structure,the unsystematic management,and the deficiency of innovative ability.These problems show that the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)of research universities in China has not yet embedded in the university education well as a whole,but still in a state of 'government oriented,power boosted and resource driven'.A big-pictured and balanced-interconnecting developed ecosystem has not yet established.Under this circumstances,the monotonous externally driven closed developmental mode of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)of research universities in China needs to transform into a integrated,synergistic,self-assembly growing one.Therefore,research universities are obliged to realize the whole and long-term value of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)by constructing a Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education ecosystem,thus responding to the call of the national innovation-driven development and higher education revolution.Facing the fact that Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)in China needs to be improved and the revolution is inevitable,we studied the basic theory on constructing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)ecosystem,and started with the history and background of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE),reviewed on the development of IEE.As a result,we come to a conclusion that constructing a Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)ecosystem is a self-improvement to IEE,as well as a trend of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education(IEE)development.Based on the integrity,symbiosis and diversity of ecosystem theory and education ecosystem theory,we investigated the conception,structure and function of the IEE ecosystem.In the perspective of ecosystem theory,consisted of IEE elements,an IEE ecosystem is a comprehensive effected ecosystem with specific functions.The IEE ecosystem is an advanced form of the IEE system,it reflects the symbiosis relationship between the IEE elements and emphasizes the external effect on education.Therefore,this study tried to construct the IEE ecosystem from the dimensions of education,organization and ecological environment.With the intersection,interrelation and interaction the three factors,the IEE ecosystem which is capable of cultivating innovative talents,advancing higher education reform and serving the national innovation development is constructed.Based on the theoretical framework above,this study illustrates in two parts and serve as a reference of constructing IEE ecosystem:the weighting factors of IEE ecosystem of research universities in China and the inspirations and experiences abroad.In the research,firstly we selected out 21 indices of the now Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem from the dimensions of education,organization and ecological environment in the methods of literature,interviews and questionnaires,and give directions and priority work to the construction of IEE ecosystem by weighting the indices through empirical study.Secondly,by investigating the education,organization and environment ecology of three research universities,Stanford university in America,University of Technology,Munich,Germany,and University of Singapore.It is significant for presenting the picture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem of typical research universities as reference.Thus we come to conclusion that a well-operated IEE ecosystem is the result of the balance of supply and demand,mechanism,environment,etc.This study shows a strategy of constructing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem in China by comprehensively analyzing the predicament,indices weight and inspirations from other countries.First,the key is to change the old concept.By reforming the elements of internal factors of curricula system,education mode and teaching staff,the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem will be constructed,the ability of providing of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education will be improved,the needs of cultivating talents will be meet.Second,the power is synergetic mechanism.The synergy between organizations,between university and enterprise,between evaluation systems will form a Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem.The key elements of innovation and entrepreneurship will soon assemble to form a resultant force,and the energy of innovation and entrepreneurship of research universities will be released.Third,focusing on the supporting system.By improving the situation of policy and financial support,communal platform service and cultural environment cultivation,retionalize the resource allocation,enhance the support of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem,therefore,the construction of the ecosystem will lead the national and regional innovation development.Higher Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education will turn out to be healthy,well-organized and sustainable due to the interaction and interrelation of the matter,information and energy among the three sub-ecosystems,and be the power of research universities reform to drive the innovation development of our society.
