As economic globalization and social informatization develop rapidly in the 21 st century,The internationalization of higher education had never been connecting universities as it is now,just as knowledge had never been rapidly created and transmitted in the world as it is now.International exchanges and cooperations in higher education have bright prospect.Our country now is promoting the building of world's top universities with Chinese characteristics which is ashared goal for our government and universities.The internationalization of education has become an important strategy for cultivating international talents and improving the quality of universities.In particular,as the country is coming into new era,and deeply implement the strategy ”one belt,one road” and comprehensively expland openning-up,how to improving themselves in accordance with its own advantages and characteristics is becoming a strategic choice of the internationalization of China's universities.As the forefront of China's reform and opening up,Guangdong has made great progress in the internationalization of higher education.Exploring how to comprehensively and systematically plan the internationalization of normal universities in Guangdong in the face of new situation and new tasks is the intention of this research.First,this thesis comprehensively combs the previous studies of the internationalization of higher education.The thesis introduces the relevant concepts,motivation,elements,and evaluation of the internationalization of higher education.Secondly,it digs into the internationalization of teacher' training in normal universities,and further,the shortage of it,which indicates the significance of this research.Thirdly,referring to the elements of the indicators of the internationalization of universities and the internationalization-rele-vant factors of university rankings home and abroad,guided by structural functionalism of Parsons,this thesis constructs an evaluation index for the internationalization of Guangdong normal universities,following the guidance of relevant policy.Then,according to the index,the thesis developes a questionnaire for teachers and students in Guangdong normal universities.A quantitative study on the status quo of the internationalization development of normal universities in Guangdong province is also in progress.A structured interview is conducted with the heads of international departments of five normal universities to reveal the internationalization of education of Guangdong normal universities in different lights.Finally,using the theory of AGIL model of Parsons,this thesis suggests a development strategy for the internationalization of Guangdong normal universities.In the end,it comprehensively displays the prospect of internationalization for Guangdong normal universities.
