A Historical Study Of The "Wishful Treasure Tree" By Khenpo Yixi Banjue Of Sumba

Sump a Khampo Ishibaljir(1704-1788)was one of the famous scholars in Mongolian and Tibetan history in the 18th century.He was one of the great religious figures who devoted in the big and small fivereligion knowledge of Buddhism.He was brilliant at the research of philosophy,philology,literature and history,also wrote many books.The Tree of Galbarbasun,was an important history article among all his works.It was the first volume of his complete works,therefore,it can be seen as the essence of all his works.This article was written in Tibetan,and was distinguished from the other documents of the same time because ofthe historical writing style of the 18th century,the historical perspectives and the rich contents depended on the reference of the multi-language documents.Therefore,the researchers in many countries have showed a close attention to this article,also studied and published plenty of academic works.This paper consists of four chapters.The first chapter talks about the statistics of Ishibaljir's worksand the brief reviews on the related research.Sumpa Khampo Ishibaljir was born in the family of taiji Dorjidashi,who was from Baatad aimag of Khoshuud in Khokhenuur in 1704.His mother's name was Dashtsoo,he was the fourth son of seven children of Dashtsoo.Ishibaljir studied the knowledge of the Buddhist religion since he was young.He achieved a great accomplishment on the big and small ten religion knowledge of Buddhism,and became a famous scholar.Sumpa Khampo Ishibaljir was not only dedicated all his talents to the development of the Buddhism,but also was a historical figure who participated in the social life and politics at the time.He published about seventy articles ofeight volume in wooden print.The second chapter discusses about the general situation of the Tree of Galbarbasun and the academic dynamic of the related studies in many countries,also examines the historical writing principle,perspectives and the method of the article and the religious and philosophical ideas of Ishibaljir.The third chapter states the value of the Tree of Galbarbasun as a historical document,and emphasizes its main similarities and differences by comparing with the other documents.The fourth chapter compares the information about the Oirat history inthe Tree of Galbarbasun with the History of Khokhenuur,states that the two articles were complemented for each other.It is clearly seen from the research that the biography of Guush Khan,the records about his activities and his descendants in the Tree of Galbarbasun,were very precious because they were not found in the other documents.
