On Social Credit

Social credit is a matter of praxis.It is the conscious reshaping and active adjustment to the relationship between the self and the other in the process of social interaction and it is the reciprocal relation based on common interest and mutual trust.With the in-depth development of the contemporary human social practice,the importance of social credit as the coordination of community interests and a way to promoting the social progress is highlighted.Social credit plays a vital role in advancing the progress of human civilization and comprehensive development of the society.However,with regard to status quo,default is common and the present human society is facing the unprecedented credit crisis,exerting a huge negative impact on the benign operation and healthy development of human society.Therefore,there is an urgent need to attach great importance to and make response to difficulties the social credit faces and explore its realistic value and evolution mechanism to pave a suitable rode for the social credit in present China.Following the basic idea,the paper is divided into seven chapters for discussion.Chapter one: Introduction.This chapter,on the basis of Marxist philosophy,first emphasizes the special status of social credit in contemporary society and analyzes the important theoretical value and practical significance of social credit and moreover,apart from clarifying researches on the current situation of social credit home and abroad,theoretical observations on present research achievements are made.Deficiencies existing in theoretical depth,research scope and paradigm are pointed out in this chapter.The necessity and urgency to illustrate the social credit from the philosophical aspect is further justified.Difficulties and points for innovation are put forward in this paper and following are the basic research ideas and research approaches adopted in the process.Chapter Two: Ideological origin of the credit theory.From ancient time till present,credit theory is the common phenomena in both Chinese traditional culture and western ideological background.In general,the birth,evolution and development of credit thought are in close connection with economic structure and cultural environment.As far as traditional Chinese culture concerned,the credit culture that highlights the human relation,attaches great importance to moral principles and neglects agreement is established under the backdrop of face-to-face-society based on the feudal peasant economy.As for the western society,commodity economy and religious traditions facilitated the birth of the spirit of contract which made the western credit thought the obvious trait of rationalism.Through exposing the nature of credit,analyzing the dialectical relation between credit and capital and revealing the function of credit in commodity economic development,the credit thought of Marx focused on the role credit played in capitalistic commodity economy,made an in-depth analysis of the operation mechanism and internal secret of capitalistic commodity economy and further revealed the nature of exploitation and oppression of the bourgeoisie.Chapter Three: Basic determination for social credit.Through the study on the etymology and the interpretation as well as definition of philosophy on words credit,discredit and social credit,the paper clarifies the basic connotation and extension of the social credit,distinguishes the difference and relation between social credit,social trust,social reputation and social honesty and puts forward the degree of social credit,a concept of judging and evaluating the real condition of social credit and makes the analysis on the basic type and influential factors of the degree of social credit.Under such backdrop,the basic structure of social credit is explored from the perspective of complex relationship between subject and object of social credit,inner level of social credit as well as time dimension of social credit.Main features,basic functions and practical values are illustrated in a detailed manner.Chapter Four: Historical evolution of social credit.Social credit is a common phenomenon in every stage of human society not the specific trait of the contemporary society.Therefore,there is a need to summarize the social credit in every stage of human society from the historical perspective and explore the evolution rules of social credit.It is believed in this paper that in the stage of primitive society,social credit was mostly confined to the specific territory,bonded by the blood and thus blood-geography social credit was established.In the stage of agricultural society,the expansion of social interaction and progressive development of social labor division,the role and function of ethics as well as identity order in the social interaction became obvious,and thus ethics-status social credit was established.In the stage of industrial society,the rapid development of commodity economy facilitated the birth of contractual spirit and the implementation of contract needs the support of institution,therefore the contractinstitution social credit was established.In the stage of information society,with the rapid development of information technology,communications were carried out in a virtual manner.Any bad behavior would be recorded and disseminated by information technology and people were forced to follow the social credit,therefore,virtual-conscious social credit was established.Chapter Five: The reality situation of social credit.Challenges the social credit faces and contemplation as well as review on social credit are discussed in this chapter.It is believed that in this paper there are three aspects of challenges the present society is facing.First,the digital alienation and challenges it brings.In the era of big data,figures directly influence the formation of social credit relation,the construction of social credit system and implementation of social credit.However,data distortion and data prejudice brought by digital alienation are due to exert a negative impact on social credit.Second,risks and dangers brought by the modernity.Universal supremacy of reason and rationality is recommended,the instrumental dimension of the rationality is highlighted and the value dimension of the rationality is weakened in the modernity which may easily induces discredit.Moreover,the worship towards the individualism and global crisis also exert a huge negative impact on social credit.Third,the inherent paradox of practice of moral and ethics.There exists a dissymmetry between the desired state and real condition,cracks between moral commitment and variability of action,antinomies between altruism of moral principles and egoism of value realization.Chapter Six: Practice generation system of social credit.Any social activity has there own generated path and social credit is no exception.First,from the view of the prerequisite of social credit relations,social interest is the foundation for the establishment of social credit.However,the premise of social interest is that people are free to dispose their property,ie,the ownership of the property.Once the freedom is lost,it is impossible to establish the social credit relation.Second,from the path to the realization of social credit,the scope,the type and the level of social credit are determined by production practice and social interaction.As the product of social practice,the fulfillment of social credit can only be gradually implemented and validated through the process of social practice.Third,from the target of social credit construction,the fundamental aim of social credit consists in promoting standardization of social order and cultivating virtues of social credit so as to realize the benign operation of social order and create conditions for free and comprehensive development of the people.Chapter Seven: The foresight of social credit in current China.Since the reform and opening-up,great achievements have been made in Chinese social credit under the backdrop of market economy system.Credit awareness is formed in a gradual manner,a relatively perfect social credit system is established,the social credit rating and reporting patter led by financial institution and third party is formed basically and therefore the environment for the implementation of social credit has been greatly improved.However,in general,Chinese social credit construction undergoes a late bloom and low staring point.There still exist points for improvement,imbalances in development,insufficiency in infrastructure spending and inadequacy in default governance.Therefore,problems can be addressed through perfecting the institution of social credit,improving social credit rating system,establishing early warn system and strengthening the supervision system,etc.
