Victor Joseph Lecht's Oil Painting Art Research

After the Patriotic War,the Soviet people were gradually stepping out of the war shadow and a reconstruction was urgently needed in all aspects throughout the country.Lots of painters had joined in the war and survived.Reihet was one of them.While reconstructing their homeland,the painters completely devoted themselves to art creations with paintbrushes,and had a whole new understanding of art creations and the value of life.Reihet had been on the frontline through the entire War.The historical background and living environment in which he had lived made Reihet a great painter who was growing up after the war.A great number of Reihet’s early paintings are reflecting the pains and sufferings caused by the War,and the persistent fightings against German Fascists by the Soviet people.His later creations,however,are mostly portrait and landscape paintings.This thesis is trying to have a through exploration of his art career under the background of pre and post Patriotic War eras.The focus is to research and analyze Reihet ’ s painting works at various periods,and to recapture his art career and achievement by interviewing the painters of his era,as well as those ever teaching in the Repin Studio.
