Chronology Of Tang Yifen

Tang Yifen(1778-1853),whose another name is Yusheng,got a designation called Zhouweng in his old age.He was a native of Changzhou County in Jiangsu province.Tang,whose grandfather and father died on the battlefield,got Yunqiwei title at a young age,and held a post from Sanjiangying shoubei in Jiangsu province to Leqingxie fujiang in Zhejiang province.Tang changed his dwelling palace to Nanjing in old age,and drowned himself after the city was conquered by Taiping army.Tang was not only an intellectual,but also an army general who traveled all over the county,experienced many major events,his artistic talent and moral courage was admired by public.Tang wrote excellent poems,and got great achievements in painting field,who was considered to be the most famous painter after Yun nantian in Changzhou.Tang lived in a transition period,whose poems,paintings and dramas were valuable samples of that time.Most recent studies on Tang Yifen were about his creations,there were still spaces for life studies.This paper was a chronicle major in determining Tang’s daily life based on Chen Tao’s <Tang Yifen chronicle>.This paper studied on Tang Yifen’s family,daily life,friends and creations,made use of records,genealogies,local history,collections and diaries,for the purpose of showing Tang and his time.This paper can be divided into three parts,genealogy,chronicle and appendix.Genealogy studied on Tang’s bloodline,according to the family trees of Tangs in Changzhou.Chronicle is the core part of the paper,which divided Tang’s life into five parts.Appendix consists of a published paper.
