Study On The Literary Thoughts Of Tang Shunzhi

Tang Shunzhi is a famous writer on ancient style prose writing and eight-legged essay in Ming Dynasty.His literary thoughts had an important influence on the history of literary thoughts in Ming-Qing Dynasty.Since the 20th century,the research on the literary thoughts of Tang Shunzhi focused on the"theory of Ben-Se"(???).Modern scholars believes that this theory enhance the author's subjectivity.Furthermore,the "theory of Ben-Se" exceed the "theory of Artic le-Fa"(???),which pursues the balance of Yi(?)and Fa(?),as well as the syncretism of literature(?)and Tao(?).In a word,as the foremost and the most influential literary thoughts of Tang Shunzhi,the "theory of Ben-Se"played the part of forerunner to the ideological literary trend in Late-Ming Dynasty.If we review the scholar of period of Ming-Qing Dynasty,they paid attention to the "theory of Article-Fa" still further.The article series of ancient style prose from Q in-Han Dynasty to Tang-Song Dynasty by the "theory of Article-Fa" was identified by the scholars of Ming-Qing Dynasty.Obviously,the research of Tang Shunzhi between the scholar of Ming-Qing Dynasty and modern society presents a big difference.In face of such difference,this paper restudies the feature,connotation and value of the literary thoughts of Tang Shunzhi in order to demonstrate Tang Shunzhi multidimensional,stereo,and objectively.Thesis consists of four main sections.The first chapter studies on the "theory of Ben-Se" on its background,connotation and localization.Discussion highlighted the relationship among the background,connotation and localization of "theory of Ben-Se",and this paper believes that the change of literary thoughts is closely related to the contemporaneous academic idea.Tang Shunzhi amended his "theory of Ben-Se" with the mature of his philosophy of Xin-Xue(??),and this old theory was replaced the syncretism of literature and Tao,which be called for short as the "theory of Article-Fa".The second chapter focuses on the Tang Shunzhi's personally compiling which was called Wen Bian(????).We point out that much of modern scholars neglected Wen Bian which designed to indicating the "literary grammar",is an important document to Tang Shunzhi's grammar theory.The study on the background,version and compilation of style of Wen Bian,reinforces the basis of studies the literature in the next chapter.On the basis of the chapter two,the third chapter analysis the meaning of the "theory of Article-Fa”in four aspects.We think the "theory of Article-Fa" is the answer to the wave of conservatism after the mature of philosophy of Xin-Xue,that is to say,the "theory of Article-Fa" replace literary idea of Tang Shunzhi,which system integrity and connotation richly.The fourth chapter reveals the significance of Tang Shunzhi's literature thoughts from the construction and inheriting to classical orthodox.The tradition of ancient style prose which from Q in-Han Dynasty to Tang-Song dynasty,was revealed by the classic prose theories which centered the "theory of Article-Fa".In addition,this tradition was inherited by himself,Tang Shunzhi opened the precedent of prose written in Qing Dynasty which combines Xing-Ming(??),Jing-Shu(??)and rhetoric.
