In the history of Chinese literature's development, Shenyue occupied animportant position. He is not only a chief character of literature world whoimpacted the style of writing of the whole generation in his time by his owntheory and works in Qi and Liang Dynasties, but also produced a greatinfluence on the afterworld by his phonology theory. The always studies onShenyue mostly focus on his phonology but the studies on his wholeachievement are not entirely and thoroughly. On the basis of the formerstudies, the paper try to make with objective and comprehensive cognitionand also evaluation starting with the aspects of his character, literary ideas,and production. The whole paper can be divided into five parts:The first chapter: Shenyue himselfThe Northern and Southern Dynasties are the most disordered periods interms of Chinese ancient politics and also the active period in terms ofthoughts. As a scholar from aristocratic family, Shenyue obviously fall underthe profound effect of the epoch polity and culture background in the aspectsof his thoughts, character and productive intention which determine the mainvisage of his production and present his style of writing the distinct epochfeature.The second chapter: the view of Shenyue's literary thoughtsShenyue has a system of his own literary thought mainly appears in hisSongshu Xie Lingyun Biography and other works. This chapter mainlyanalyzes his literary thoughts from the viewpoints of literature origin,literature development, literature production, literature forms and contents,and employs them integrally and systematize.The third chapter: the view of Shenyue' poesy.Shenyue's poesy represents the main feature of the poesy in Qi and LiangDynasty, enjoying great reputation at that time. This chapter mainly analyzesits content and art feature, approaching its succeeding and development onthe former poesy and effect on the poesy in afterworld.1. Content. Shenyue's poesy has abundant subject matter, and the whollyscene and feeling in his life can be expressed in his poesy. The author selectsthe essence of his poesy and divides it into six kinds like landscape, chanting,amorous, expressing, distress, immortals and Buddha, inducing their maincharacteristic in content.2. Art feature. The art speciality of the poesy has get recognitionincreasingly since Wei and Jin Dynasties. Shenyue is the representative of theYongming poets who discuss the form beauty of poesy particularity andthoroughly, founding the new-style poem named "Yongming".
