Research On The Theory Of Cough Syndrome Treatment

Objective Aiming at some common problems of cough syndrome differentiation and treatment in academia,such as,the differences in the treatment of cough syndrome types in some industry standards and textbooks,the inconsistency of cough classification standards of different industry standards,being out of line between industry standards and clinically abundant cough syndromes.This paper intends to carry out systematic theoretical research on cough by means of the national standard of contemporary cough,various standards or guidelines of traditional Chinese and Western medicine,textbooks,clinical reports,ancient medical books,etc.,to revise the criteria of syndrome differentiation and treatment of cough and enrich the Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Methods 1.Studies on Four Kinds of Current Standards of Cough in China(1)National Standards of the People's Republic of China(Traditional Chinese Medicine)including National Standards for Disease,Syndrome and Therapeutic Methods.(2)Standards of Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry including Standards of curative effect for diagnosis and treatment of diseases and syndromes in internal medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Standards of Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Expert consensus on cough diagnosis and treatment in Traditional Chinese Medicine,Textbooks of Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Contents of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Western Medicine Industry Standards.(3)Industry Standards of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.(4)Guidelines for Cough Diagnosis and Treatment in Western Medicine.2.Understanding the current situation of syndrome differentiation and treatment of clinical cough in recent years based on Comparisons and Studies of 3000 Clinical Literatures from 2015 to 2017.3.Summarizing the main syndromes and prescription medication of cough in the past two thousand years by Collating and Researching on cough syndrome differentiation and treatment of prescriptions and medicines in representative ancient books of Traditional Chinese Medicine.4.Developing the Criteria of Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment for Common Cough Syndromes based on the results of above studies.Results 1.Findings from the current four categories of cough-related standards in China,(1)The 97 edition of the National Standards of Traditional Chinese Medicine contains rich and detailed contents,but there are some problems,such as inconsistent classifications of disease and syndrome names,separations of disease and syndrome terms,mismatches of symptoms corresponding to the National Standards of Syndrome and the Therapeutics,and similar treatments of different syndromes.(2)The existing problems of Traditional Chinese Medicine industry standards are that some standards' contents are not linked up,and the number of syndromes included is insufficient(between 7 and 9,only 15 after merging).There is a big gap between the 56 syndromes of Traditional Chinese Medicine industry standards and the 56 syndromes of Traditional Chinese Medicine industry standards,and it is difficult to correspond to the common syndromes of complex clinical symptoms.(3)Comparing the standards of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine with those of the other two kinds of standards,the existing problems are still the partial absence of common syndromes,the different naming standards of syndromes,and the focus of viscera of some syndromes is not on the lungs,etc.By comparing and summarizing the above criteria,relatively complete common cough syndromes can be obtained.The results of this study will be more representative and complete than the original standards of various sources.2.By comparing and studying 3000 clinical literatures from 2015 to 2017,we found that the cough syndromes involved in clinical literatures were more abundant,which not only exceeded some Traditional Chinese Medicine industry standards,but also had similarities and differences with the four types of standard syndromes summarized above.According to the synthesized clinical reports,95 syndromes were obtained by merging and deleting the similar syndromes and duplicating syndromes.Compared with the above industry standards,it is closer to the clinical reality.3.To collate and study the prescriptions and medicines related to cough syndrome differentiation and treatment in representative Traditional Chinese Medicine literature of past dynasties,64 representative ancient books of Traditional Chinese Medicine containing cough special articles were selected as data sources of cough syndrome names.The main syndromes and prescription medicines related to cough syndromes and different syndromes in the past two thousand years were summarized,and the high frequency of occurrence of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its properties and actions,classifications of Traditional Chinese Medicine and their frequencies of occurrence were also included.The frequency of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of cough for different diseases was described.4.Based on the above findings,92 criteria for syndrome differentiation and treatment of cough were adjusted and formulated.This standard gathered the academic contents of syndrome differentiation and treatment from the above three literature sources,quoted the academic achievements of the research on syndrome differentiation and treatment since the founding of the People's Republic of China,and provided theoretical supports for clinical cough syndrome differentiation and treatments.Conclusion Through comparative study,this study fully inherits the experience and theory of cough syndrome differentiation and treatment in traditional Chinese medicine industry.The relevant theories can be traced back to the Huangdi Neijing written two thousand years ago.At the same time,it also accurately reveals the existing problems in some previous standards and literature,and lays a foundation for the formulation of the criteria for the differentiation and treatment of cough based on syndrome differentiation.On the basis of fully absorbing the advantages of all kinds of data and referring to the theory of standard-making of syndrome differentiation and treatment,a relatively complete and practical standards of syndrome differentiation and treatment of cough have been formulated.This study validates the hypothesis: it will be helpful to formulate cough syndrome differentiation and treatment criteria which are rich in contents and practical in clinical practices according to the requirements,and as a result to enrich the basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine by combining the relevant literature content of cough in ancient medical books,analyzing common syndromes and their prescriptions,comparing and analyzing the similarities and differences of all the above cough syndromes,as well as the diagnosis and treatment of cough with theoretical researches on the national standards of cough,various standards or guidelines of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine,textbooks,clinical reports and so on.
