Professor Chen Chaozu's Academic Thought And Clinical Application Of “Triple Energizer Composed By Membrane Striae”

Objective:By summarizing the academic thoughts of “Triple Energizer composed by Membrane & Striae” in Professor Chen Chaozu's relevant literature as well as the comprehensively analysis of his clinic cases with modern data mining technology,this papaer analysed the compatibility pricipals and medication rules of Chen's formulas on the basis of “Triple Energizer composed by Membrane & Striae” theory.Methods:Firstly,retrospective research was adopted.This paper collected and analyzed Professor Chen's relevant works,papers and “Triple Energizer composed by Membrane & Striae” records,in which the related materials about academic thoughts of the “Triple Energizer composed by Membrane & Striae” was selected out and summarized.Secondly,1293 cases were chosen from the original 2663 cases following the establised criteria.Then,the author normalized all datas and records into the TCM inheritance auxiliary platform to analyze the major medication and common disease rules which are used to the further exploreation of “Triple Energizer composed by Membrane & Striae” theory in clinical practice through data mining technology.Results:In the book "TCM Treatment and Prescription",Professor Chen Chaozu constructed a concrete and complete theoretical system of “Triple Energizer composed by Membrane & Striae” from its shape,nature,physiological,pathology,as well as corresponding treatment,formula and herbs.The contradictions of recognition between the "Nei Jing" and "Difficult Sutra" are unified: the triple energizer which consists of membrane and striaeis proposed;the concept of the membrane is extended to all membrane tissues in the human body,including the meridian wall;and striae isincorporated into the triple burner category and expand its inheritance auxiliary platform,Professor Chen Chaozu's general combination and medication rules in the fomula was excavated by using frequency statistics and association rules.Licorice and white peony are often used to relieve membranes and meridians tension.Poria cocos,atractylodes,alisma,and pinellia sinensis are used to remove the dampness in triple burner.Bupleurum,tangerine peel,clam shell are commonly used to smooth the Qi in triple burner.Guizhi is used to warm the kidney and do gasfication.From the four Qi and five tastes statistics,it can be seen that warm property herbs are often used to warm yang,transform Qi,dispell cold and tonify the yang.Acrid taste herbs are often used to pass Qi and body liquid in triple burner and five internal organs.Sweet taste herbs are often used to relieve spasm and pain,cure deficiency and excrete dampness.The herb pairs and groups are combinations which are focus on warming yang,transforming Qi,softing liver,clearing damp and promoting diuresis.Among the top ten formulas,Wulin Powder,Xiaoqinglong Decoction,Pingwei Powder,Danggui Shaoyao Powder,Zhenwu Decoction,Xiaochaihu Decoction,Tiaogan Powder,Sini Powder can be used to treat stagnation of Qi and water,which is caused by tension of membranes based on different reasons,as well as the methodof regulating the five internal organs to regulate the triple burner.For Guizhi Decoction and Gegen Decoction,the herbs that relieve the tension of the membrane are emphasized.Through the analysis of the rules of medication for common diseases,it shows that Xiaoqinglong Decoction,Sini Decoction and Pingwei Powder are used to cure cough which relects the therapeutic methods of simultaneously adjustsing the lung,liver,spleen and kidney,dredging Qi and body liquid of the triple burner,dispersing cold.Liver Powder combined with Danggui Shaoyao Powder and Sini Powder are commonly used to cure arthralgia which reflects therapeutic methods of strengthening the spleen,warming the kidney,soothing the liver,dispersing the wind,cold and dampness in the triple burner,and relaxing the pain and tension of membrane and meridian.Sini Powder combined with Weilin Decoction are used to cure stomach blockage which reflects therapeutic methods of strengthening the spleen,soothing the liver,dispersing the Qi and dampness to dredge the triple burner,and relaxing the membrane and meridian.The treatment of rubella stresses the disease location in the triple burner.Jufangxiaofeng Powder addition and subtraction is used to release lung Qi,disperse the wind,Qi and dampness in the triple burner,and relax the tension of membrane and meridian.“Make Yang enter Yin” is the key point in treating insomnia,as well as regulating liver,Qi and dampness in the triple burner.Chaiguiwuling Powder is often used.Pricipals in treating constipation focuses on the common pathogenesis that stagnant water and Qi in the triple burner will cause the disorder and incapable in transforming intestinal liquid.Weilin Decoction,Sini Powder,Liujunzi Decoction are used to strengthen the spleen,disperse the Qi and distribute the body fluid.It can be seen from the selection of the fomulas,although the above diseases belong to different systems,the treating principal is adjustion of the functions of the five internal organs,dredge the triple burner striae,and soft the triple burnermembrane meridian to restore the normal circulation of the Qi,blood and body liquid.Conclusions:Professor Chen Chaozu's theory of "Triple Energizer composed by Membrane &Striae" is an innovative,complete and practical theoretical system.The in-depth study for the structure of the Triple Burner is an important supplement of the basic theory of TCM,which can provides theoretical basis for the treatment of multi-system disease from the liver.The key point of using the theory of “Triple Energizer composed by Membrane & Striae” in clinical is to clearing the striae,softening the membrane &meridian and adjusting the five internal organs."Dredge" is the core idea and essential meaning of the "Triple Energizer composed by Membrane & Striae" theory.
