Background Perimenopausal syndrome refers to various symptoms of women due to neuropsychologic changes and autonomic nerve disorder followed by the change sex hormone in perimenopausal period.The main clinical symptoms were low back pain,weak knees,hot sweating,grumpy temper,insomnia,palpitation,inexplicable irritability,dreaminess,be nervous,anxiety and depression.Perimenopausal syndrome is now a common gynecological disease.Modern society is a fast-paced society,and the role of women in modern society is becoming more and more important.Therefore,women in menopause suffer a variety of stress,such as social stress,job stress,and family stress,which affects the physical and mental health of women and makes the patients younger.Recent research demonstrates that the occurrence and severity of menopausal syndrome are closely related with endocrine as well as constitution,health condition,mental state,work environment,and family environment.At the current stage,psychotherapy and symptomatic treatment are used for patient in a mild state,while hormone replacement therapy is used for patient in a severe state.However,long-term application of hormone will bring about side effects and inappropriate application of hormone will lead to endocrine dyscrasia and increases the risk of heart cerebrovascular disease and Gynecologic tumors.Hence,hormone replacement therapy may not be accepted by the local patients in Brisbane,Australia to a certain extent.Chinese medicine has a significant effect in treating perimenopausal syndrome.Searching for a suitable treatment for local women to alleviate the pain caused by perimenopausal syndrome has become an urgent problem to be solved?Objective The present research analyzed the mechanism and therapies of perimenopausal syndrome through literature review.Females in Brisbane,Australia were recruited to evaluate the effect of acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal medicine on the symptom improvement of kidney-deficiency perimenopausal syndrome,aiming at providing an effective method for the treatment of kidney-deficiency perimenopausal syndrome as well as promoting the development of TCM in Australia.Method A total of 60 patients who met the inclusion criteria of perimenopausal syndrome were recruited and randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 30 cases in each group.The control group used modified Zuo Gui Wan and Er Chen Tang three times a week.The traditional Chinese medicine are decocted by Jiangman traditional Chinese medicine clinic.Each bag is 200 ml,taking 1 bags at a time,taking 2 times a day.Based on the treatment of control group,acupuncture was added in the treatment group twice a week.Both groups were treated for two courses and 4 weeks was a course.Greene scale,MRS scores,MENQOL scores and Clinical effect were compared.Results1.Greene Scale Both Acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal drug and Chinese herbal drug control group could improve the physiological,psychological and physical symptoms of the patients with perimenopausal syndrome after 2 courses of treatment,while the curative effect of the combination therapy was more obvious,and the difference between the two groups had significant statistical significance(p<0.0 1).2.MRS Scores By observing the both group data of 4 weeks,8 weeks and1 month after the end of the treatment,The MRS scores were all lower than those before the treatment.The two groups could improve the patients' Symptom,such as:fever and sweating,palpitation,wakefulness,depressive mood,impetuosity and susceptibility to rag,anxiety irritability,decreased memory,hypaphrodisia,vaginal dryness,symptoms of urinary system and Joint muscle pain,but the therapeutic effect of combination of acupuncture and medicine is more obvious(p<0.01).3.MENQOL scores Both Acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal drug and Chinese herbal drug control group could improve the symptoms of vasoconstriction,psychological and physiological state of perimenopausal syndrome patients,as well as sexual life,while the curative effect of the combination therapy was more obvious,and the difference between the two groups had significant statistical significance(p<0.01).4.Clinical effect In the treatment of perimenopausal syndrome with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine,7 cases were cured,23 cases were improved,0 cases were not healed,the clinical cure rate was 23.3%,the treatment group of traditional Chinese medicine,1cases were cured,29 cases were improved,0 cases were not healed,the clinical cure rate was 3.3%,and the combination therapy group of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine was better than the pure Chinese medicine treatment group(p<0.05).Conclusion Both acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine can effectively improve the physiological,psychological and physical symptoms of perimenopausal syndrome patients,and can improve the quality of life of the patients,but the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine is obviously better than that of the traditional Chinese medicine group.The local women in subbrisben,Australia,are also willing to receive acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine,which is worth widely spreading in Australia to benefit more patients with local perimenopausal syndrome.
