| Architectural Association School of Architecture(the AA school),UK,has been known by introducing a series of remarkable achievements and unique ways since2000.A large number of graduates and teachers of the AA school,such as Rem Koolhaas,Zaha Hadid,Daniel libeskind,Bernard Tschumi,Peter Cook,Richard Rogers,Nicholas Grimshaw,Steven Holl,Wolf D.Prix,and so on are world-class star architects.On one hand,the avant-garde and experimental buildings they have designed have largely changed the understandings of architecture in the world today.On the other hand,their contribution on developing “Architectural Archigram”,deconstruction architecture,and digital-parametric architecture promotes the development of contemporary architectural trends and related education.Furthermore,we find a series of legendary aspects of the AA school,for example,its architectural education model is independent of the university system;it applies the teaching method of “Working unit” replacing the traditional syllabus system;the subject delivered by the teacher consists the main teaching content;its preliminary architectural teaching encourages students constructing their understanding of architecture by employing various modern experimental art techniques such as device,body and behavior,image,collage,which is different from the general architectural introductory teaching content,such as function,construction,and drawing;finally,its innovative,experimental,cross-disciplinary,and artistic teaching appearance evoke the motivation to conduct this research.The development of design education in China has been transformed into the new period of modern art and design after focusing on those aspects of handwork,pattern,arts and crafts,and has gradually entered the stage of digital design after entering the new century.Along with these changes the homogeneous,stylised and the practical teaching methods are largely applied in design education with the features of the same teaching plan,syllabus,project assignment and teaching material.At the same time,the basic course of design,which attracts great attention of the design education,are attempting to reform by numerous colleges and universities.However,the reform of the basic course is still following the old pattern of “design sketch”,“decorative color” and “three components”for many reasons.As a result,the basic design course reform in this situation has turned its attention to architectural education,and the basic course in the AA school has undoubtedly brought exemplary significance to the breakthrough of design basic teaching.Through the research of the subject and the construction of the thesis,it can be interpreted from different levels to find the path that can be referenced and rewritten,and to find the deductive way from the teaching ideas,syllabus settings to the techniques applied in excises.The main contents of this thesis are as follows: 1.As the background and foundation of AA school 's unique appearance,it includes the basic form of experimental architectural art,the situation of experimental teaching and basic teaching of architectural education,2.AA school's educational characteristics,including development course,curriculum system and famous teachers.3.AA school's basic teaching work expression and visual schema,including the borrowing and deduction of modern and contemporary art,the form of the work and visual expression.4.The teaching methods of the basic course of AA college include the way of the teacher's teaching theme design,the students' secondary design of the unit theme,the multi-path of the work creativity,etc.5.The expression and visual schema of the assignment in basic courses,including the borrowing and deduction the elements and methods from modern and contemporary art and the form and visual expression of the assignment.The Appendices represent the raw data of the AA students' assignments of the basic courses ranging from1999 to 2018. |
