Abstract/Summary:
Unprecedented development of digitalization technology results in great change in the landscape architectural design field. This study aims to handle the problem of how to cope with the challenges posed by new ideas and technologies. From the perspective of Landscape Architecture, this article applies the methodology system of landscape urbanism to make experimental exploration aided by computational design technology and to do development research into digitization strategy, with regard to reclamation of land from the sea via a man-made offshore island of a tide-dominated coast. In terms of theoretical study, this article systematically sorts out the origin, emergence and development of the Landscape Urbanism theory, based on the studies done by predecessors,in consideration of the latest results and progress of the Landscape Urbanism theory at home and abroad, with focus on "regional planning based on digitalization technology".It explains the necessity to apply this theory as the methodology to this study, and then generalizes five aspects of the basic connotation, and finally forms a thought framework consisting of three core philosophies,so as to direct the construction of digitalization design strategies. On this basis, this article studies "how to reclaim land from the sea via man-made offshore island, with less manual intervention and more dependence on the natural process of a tide-dominated coast".It attempts to apply methodological theories to specific problems, thus putting forward the theoretical assumption of digitization strategies for reclaiming land from the sea via a tide-dominated coast, namely incorporating the physical model and digitization simulation technologies in terms of design methods and orienting towards "natural force driving" in terms of design philosophy. This article treats reclamation of land from the sea via a tide-dominated coast as the study object with a dynamic mechanism. It constructs a strategic framework of landscape digitization design methods based on natural driving factors and human driving factors, which includes the following five aspects:firstly, simulate the tide based on the autonomous agent theory;secondly, use digital technologies to study the five main habitat types of the tide-dominated coast;thirdly, explore policy intervention models, based on the Lotka-Volterra equation;fourthly, carry out physical model experiments based on digital analysis, and study the generation of the field form in the natural process;finally, describe the possibility of interface cooperation and interactive platforms, based on the aforesaid four points and the principle of augmented reality. It carries out an empirical study by taking the experimental project of "Abu Dhabi land reclamation via a man-made island of a tide-dominated coast" as an example, including information acquisition, environmental analysis, design construction and design reflections.Through the whole design process, the aforesaid assumption of the frame theory is proved.Meanwhile, experiences and problems in this process provide a feedback and supplement to the frame system.By applying new technologies to study in new fields, this article proves that it is possible to apply the study method of combining the landscape urbanism theory with the digitization simulation technology to solve practical problems similar to reclamation of land from the sea.It roughs out the strategic framework of landscape digitization design for reclamation of land from the sea via a tide-dominated coast. It fills the gap in researches into the reclamation of land from the sea via a tide-dominated coast in the landscape architecture field. Finally, through empirical studies,it innovatively promotes and develops the exploration and application of digitalization strategies of landscape architecture planning and design in the stage of design and construction.
