This paper originates from the author's case study of a batch of filaments Mosaic furnishing products.This batch of ornaments was produced by Beijing filaments Inlay Factory between the late 1970 s and the late 1990 s.The quantity is big,the pattern is many.Under the premise that the style and theme are not repeated,there are 848 pieces in total.Among them,a lot of styles are not alone this one,have a few with the same style.After sorting and analyzing,it is found that the modeling and technology of these products are far from the rich and luxurious,complicated and exquisite filaments inlaying process products in the general understanding,which reflects a kind of "daily" "civil" characteristics.This difference makes this study break away from the previous non-genetic research paradigm of recording the technological process and describing the style characteristics of "masterpiece".Instead,it explores the role of filament Mosaic technology in a specific historical background and studies the filament Mosaic technology from the perspective of industrial status and cultural ecology.It includes attention to process and product as well as to the producer.In the specific historical environment to understand and understand the specific period of Beijing filament Mosaic technology and its material achievements.Based on the above research perspective,the research idea of this paper is to start with the product and construct the information network around the side when it is produced from the point and surface.Find out the time characteristics of each link,and then restore the production situation and social situation of the product.This paper contains two clues,one of which is the extension from "thing" to its production mode,industrial ecology and cultural ecology,and the other is the analysis of the relationship between artistic,technical,productive and social characteristics in the production of filaments and its products.The research shows that these mass produced filaments Mosaic process products show a kind of folk interesting "daily picture" in subject matter and shape,and the specifications are mainly medium and small sizes,which are suitable for the display of the daily living environment of the public.These surface features are adapted to the simplification of the product manufacturing process and the "civilian" selection of materials.These costcontainment initiatives at the product level serve the industry goal of "both export and production growth."Under such a social background,the state organized centralized production in a "government-run" way,and the resources were somewhat tilted.This large-scale production mode played a positive role in the restoration,promotion and development of filaments Mosaic technology at that time.Let us see such "special techniques" as filaments inlay,which also existed as products of large-scale production in factories,showing "daily scenes" that are different from the "wonderful workmanship" and "richness and luxury" commonly known.In the process of national modernization,the filaments setting technology has also completed its own modernization transformation and become a guiding stone for a country to participate in the world economic tide and modernization process.However,it should also be noted that under the label of "earning foreign exchange" and "seeking benefits",the industrial goals of "scale" and "enlargement" are implemented with the help of the state,so that all the attention from the state,society,enterprises,education and research is focused on "production" and "cultural" value is ignored.Productiveness and sociality replaced artistry as the dominant factors in filament products.Due to the lack of artistic creativity and the development of craft culture in the industrial beauty industry,the art form of filaments setting in Beijing has been confined to the tradition and few breakthroughs have been made.Thus,it can be seen that the influence of the artistic style and quality of filaments Mosaic products is not only due to the introduction of machining methods and the division of labor,but also due to the whole society's definition of the nature of filaments Mosaic technology at that time.Although it was only a flash in the pan in a specific historical period,but also can still for the recognition process production state and process of the late 20 th century cultural ecology provides a kind of "there are things" basis and clues,for explain contemporary arts and crafts development situation of a kind of reference,also hope can give filaments Mosaic technology in the new period of the Renaissance and development to provide a little reference.
