Under the background that the global manufacturing has shifted from developed countries to developing countries, the production center has gradually concentrated on the major the territorial mega-city conglomeration(TMCC)in the emerging economies. With the deepening of economic globalization, the emerging TMCC closely connected with the world are most influenced by global transnational capital and have become the "window" between the emerging economics and the world. For China, along with China's market economy system reform and the deepening of the opening up,the coastal area gradually become the main contact global position, especially the three TMCCs of coastal areas, not only to undertake a large number of global manufacturing industry transfer, and grow up to become has the important status of the TMCC in the world. These TMCCs not only participate in the global industrial division of labor and promote the reallocation of global resources, but also restructure the industrial space within region, which promotes the deepening of regional industrial division. Thus, the regional specialization and agglomeration of manufacturing based on the finer macro-regional division of labor has been formed. There is an increasing interest, both academically and practically,in how the territorial space is partitioned in the global division of labor and why territorial manufacturing specialization and agglomeration is reconfigured over time in TMCC in emerging economies.Based on the above research background and problem analysis, this paper will base on the combination of theoretical construction and empirical test, and conduct a more in-depth study on the dynamic evolution of manufacturing industry in the TMCC of YRD from the perspective of analyzing manufacturing regional specialization and agglomeration. This paper is divided into eight chapters. The first three chapters as the background, literature review, study the construction of the theoretical framework and study area, data sources and research methodsand. The fourth chapter to the six chapter mainly discusses the spatial and temporal characteristics of regional manufacturing specialization and agglomeration in the TMCC of YRD.Then,we used relevant empirical models to test the impacts of localization, urbanization and globalization on manufacturing specialization and agglomeration. The seventh chapter takes four typical industries in this region as examples to analyze the influence of localization, urbanization and globalization factors on the cluster index of representative industries. The last chapter is the conclusion and prospect of the thesis. The main conclusions are as follows.Firstly,KSI follows a pattern of ‘low-middle-high' from the primary urban areas through the secondary urban areas to the peripheral urban areas. The pattern persists over time.At the same time, the manufacturing is mainly concentrated in the "Z" shaped industrial corridor dominated by the urban agglomeration, and shows a further strengthening trend. This indicates that the counties in the peripheral urban areas may face the development status of single industrial structure and weak ability to fight against market risks. However, the primary urban areas show the characteristics of multi-type manufacturing gathering together, which leads to the strong spatial differences in the development of manufacturing in the whole region.Secondly, the estimation results of relevant econometric models show that the localization factors, urbanization factors and globalization factors all have significant effects on the specialization and agglomeration of manufacturing industry. The variables of localization factors will have different effects on specialization and agglomeration. The urbanization factor can promote the agglomeration of manufacturing industry, but the influence on the specialization of manufacturing industry is negative. The influence of globalization on the specialization and agglomeration of manufacturing industry is two-sided.Lastly,taking the textile industry, general equipment manufacturing, automobile manufacturing and computer and electronic equipment manufacturing as examples,it is found that the output value of these industries is constantly increasing, but the employment trend is characterized by obvious fluctuations with 2010 as the turning point. In the space, there are obvious characteristics of specialized flake agglomeration and some differences in spatial division of labor. The empirical model also proves that the localization factors, urbanization factors and globalization factors will significantly affect the professional agglomeration of the case industry, and the specific direction of action will lead to some differences in the results due to the differences in the industry. Finally, based on the results of empirical analysis, the paper puts forward some policy implications and suggestions for promoting manufacturing regional specialization, industrial agglomeration and manufacturing cluster in the TMCC of YRD.
