Product family has become the basic unit of development and manufacturing process.Optimization idea and technique are the important basis and the core framework of the product family design.The past researches on the optimization of the product family focus on the product family domain.But product family design and its implementation approach-supply chain have close relations,which lead to the hierarchical and associated structure of the optimization problems.This article first analyzes the whole process of product family design,and study the influence of supply chain in different design stage of product family design.In this dissertation the hierarchical optimization prolem in design of product family and supply chain is described.Then a general leader-follower bilevel model for solving this problem is presented,and for solving the characteristics of product family bilevel model,a nested genetic algorithm is presented.Finally studied in detail of a few typical problems about product family design with supply chain,and through the transformer power product family validates the effectiveness of the proposed model and solving method.The main works of the dissertation are as following:Firstly,a new problem is discussed: the hierarchical and associated relationship existing in design of product family with supply chain.Through analysising the process of product family design,find each stage of product family design process may be affected by supply chain,and the supply chain management in different stages may be affected by product family design.Sequently the various types of the hierarchical optimization problems existing in design of product family with supply chain.Finally,put forward the modeling method to solve the problem,and set up a general bilevel model for product family design with supply chain optimization.Secondly,this section is a deep and expansional discussion focusing on the construction and solution of the mathematical model.The application of nested genetic algorithm is discussed.Thirdly,in deep and expansional discussion focusing on the product family architecture?product family configuration with supply chain respectively.After that,we formulate the joint optimization of product family architecture planning and supply chain configuration as a Stackelberg game.A nonlinear,mixed integer bi-level programming model is developed to deal with the leader-follower game theoretic decision making process between product family architecting and supply chain configuration.The PFA decisions are represented as an upper-level optimization problem for optimal selection of the base modules and compound modules.A lower-level optimization problem deals with supply chain decisions in according with the upper-level decisions of product variant configuration.When study supply chain factors for the product family configuration,we just consider the supply chain as a whole ?only consider supplier choose and consider the supply chain as process in one firm.Fourthly,application examples with a transformer power product family are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the methodology framework.We study product family architecture-supply chain leader-follower optimization design,product family configuration-supply chain leader-follower optimization design and product family configuration-process selection leader-follower connection optimization design,which all demonstrate the proposed method framework,model and calculation method.
