The Preliminary Exploration For The Study Programme For Communication Knowledge Ontology Research

As for communication study is newly developing academic field, it's too controversial to get common answers to such questions as "what is communication study","how to understand its past, present and future","how to design its future". It brings a lot of perplexity to communication scholars who are teaching or studying in the field of communication, that will decreases their creativity and innovation ability in academic practice and finally destruct the rationality basis of their common academic cause. Many scholars have put forward their opinions of what should be reflected and what should be done to get out of this predicament. This dissertation aims to filter shining and deep insights through a frame based on practical logic which concerns on the practical problems such as self-understanding, practical goal and norm, practical difficulty, context judgments and self-planning, as well as to discover contradictions and fractures among these different views. This literature review based on the logic above constitutes the first part of this dissertation. In order to integrate and transcend present research, this paper attributes the research which studies on the knowledge of communication aiming to provide inspiring insight for its self-defining, self-understanding,self-planning to the communication knowledge ontology research, and after making clear of the value, the meaning and the method of this kind of research, it propose a hypothesis that the perplexity from academic practice in the communication research field can only be fundamentally relieved on the condition that the researchers wildly cooperate with each other for the same cherish value of self-actualization to macro-construct the communication knowledge ontology.Under this hypothetical judgment, this dissertation design a study programme for communication knowledge ontology research directing for scholars' self-actualization according to a frame based on academic ration logic, which is made up of five subprojects for further academic exploration. They are the research about the default understanding of self-actualization, the represent concept of communication knowledge, the history and future trend of communication knowledge, the self-orientation of communication knowledge in the whole human knowledge system, and the general design and plan for communication knowledge on the grounds of synthesized judgments. After a preliminary investigation of each subproject included in the study programme, this dissertation comes back to the frame based on practical logic referred above to explain the supreme goal of academic practice in the field of communication, the character of communication knowledge, the judgments of the present knowledge context, the opportunities and obstacles for communication scholars' self-actualization, and the feasible strategies for communication scholars under different context in their academic practice. These explanations which aim to wake and inspire the communication scholars' self-actualization awareness in all constitute the character of communication knowledge ontology as well as the consensus basis of a kind of core-paradigm of communication knowledge directing for scholars' self-actualization. According to the methodology principle of paradigm, communication knowledge ontology can be roughly described by the paradigm derivation logic which begins with the basic core-paradigm.In the last part of this dissertation, more participations and discussions about communication knowledge ontology in our field are expected. If the hypothesis referred above can be generally accepted, more details about this design for communication knowledge ontology view can be further discussed and polished, which will carry forward the agenda of communication knowledge ontology research.
